I had an Xbox 360 with the red Ring of Death (Ring of Death by JBG31). I was talking to the store manager at my local Game Stop and he told me he's had a lot of customers come in and tell him the same. Since Microsoft has heard about the problem also, they've extended the warranty of the Xbox 360 to 3 years, so if there's any problems with the system you'll have 3 years instead of a 90 days to ship it back for repairs. He told me to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and tell someone the problem with it, which is what I did. At first you'll hear the Xbox 360 start up, which is how you'll know you've got the right number. I called, first I got a recording named Max. He'll read you a list of things, choose repairs. Then he'll ask you a few things, then he'll take you to a real person. He'll ask for a special number of your Xbox 360 (It's on the back of the console by the bar code). Complete the info and questions the person will ask you and as long as you've had the console for less than 3 years the cost will be free, other than the shipping (By UPS), which will be like only $5-$10. Then they'll send it back in a few weeks. I'm telling all of you this because I want everyone to know. It took me over 2 full days of research to find out how to get the system back. Hope this guide helps if any of your Xbox 360's break down. |
