Tip for Anime Provided by: Anime-4-Ever Aug 4, 2007 Anime Contemplation #1: Why do Anime Characters Seldom Blink? This tip is currently ranked 5.0 out of 5 by a bunch of voters. Anime-4-Ever has earned 5 gems! (Welcome to my Anime Contemplations where I attempt to answer the mysteries of Anime) So why is it they never blink? The answer is simple. Because the sheere size and diameter of their eyes their tear-ducts are much larger and hold much greater ammounts of water. Which also explains why they can cry in water fall like steams. Also because of the size of their eyes, they are more likely to pick up moisture in the air thus creating allowing to keep their eyes well lubricated. Well, if they're THAT big, wouldn't they use up the moisture faster and dry up quicker? Even if they have bigger tear ducts, then they would still need some moisture and would blink often. It takes too long to animate blinking. Pay attention in American cartoons, the seldom blink too. And the animators have nothing to do w/ making the mouths move to what they're saying.
