I LOVE Scott Westerfeld! I've read all the way to Extras and I loved them all. Have you read his Midnighters? I really enjoyed those too. Currently reading: nothing. I do however have a book called White Teeth on the bedside table and a couple Jacqueline Woodson books in my bag, also a book called Broken China. I got these in my last book order and I just haven't had the energy to delve into them. It will come, all in a rush I am sure ;) |

I've just finished (just finished meaning finished a few hours ago) Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. I found out online that it's a 3rd grade reading level...so obviously it's more for younger readers. But I really enjoyed reading it. I haven't had time to find a new book in the few hours I've been bookless. |

Catahoula, Uglies is the only book by Scott Westerfeld I've read, but I'm really liking it. I plan to read all of them. I think I might try the series you mentioned. Midnighters? Thanks for the recommendation! |

Well, I've been reading The Two Towers on and off for a while now. I read the first thirty pages of Crichton's The Lost World too. I guess I really wasn't in the mood for either of them. So I am trying for Tai-Pan by James Clavell now and hoping that its what I've been craving lately. I can be a bit picky when it comes to the books I feel like reading sometimes.. I had also been considering picking up the Counte of Monte Cristo the other day, but wasn't quite sure. I heard Les Miserables was supposed to be pretty good too. OH! I just finished Kate Chopin's The Awakening. Great novel. I need to get my own copy sometime. I've heard good things about the Uglies series before but I didn't think it looked like something I wanted to read. It seemed a bit like a High School drama to me and I have enough of that around here as it was. That being the drama and not the book. But of course I wouldn't want to start assuming and make an ass out of myself by missing a good book. |

Tai-Pan I don't want to read that book because it's huge and has equally long sequels. Unless the books are REALLY good, I'm not going to waste time reading extra novels instead of concentrating on the ones on my extremely long list. |

Shatterpoint, by Matthew Stover Tangled Webs, by Anne Bishop Omnibus: Tales of the Jedi Volume 2, by (mostly) Kevin J. Anderson The Princess Bride, by William Goldman Queen of the Slayers, by Nancy Holder The Magician’s Nephew, by C. S. Lewis City of Pearl, by Karen Traviss. I really need to cut down that number... There's even more, but I'm only getting throutgh those very, very slowly, so they're not worth mentioning. |

Actually, none of the novels in the Asian Saga are sequels. They're just in the same series together because they're, well, Asian. But I read Shogun, the first novel in the saga, and it was a whopping 1200 or some pages. I have to tell you that that book was one of the best ones I have ever read. They're very easy to get into, pretty quick paced, and an awesome read. Clavell really knows how to spin a masterpiece. So I have to say undoubtedly that the quality definately makes up for the quantity. As for Tai-Pan, well I ended up deciding to not read it at the moment since I didn't really feel in the oriental mood. So now, I am reading some more of Two Towers, as well as My Father Had a Daughter by Grace Tiffany. Its really interesting so far. Its a historical fiction about the youngest daughter of William Shakespeare. The Princess Bride I didn't care for that too much. It was okay, but it felt much too playful for more at the moment. Probably because I was in the middle of one of my classical moods when I had orginally picked up the book. I might try to read it some other time though. The Magician's Nephew I loved that book. A nice, relaxing but thought provoking read for me. I also like the bit of Christian like themes in it, though I am sure that could have been unintentional. Excellent book however, and I need to make time to read the other ones as well. |
