I learned that, as a general rule of thumb, colleges in the western US look at ACT a little more while eastern ones look at SAT a little more. But most look at both anyway, so it probably shouldn't matter too much. |

Ok. Hopefully the college(s) I pick will want your SAT score OR equivalant ACT, or vice versa. Because if they take just the SAT then I'll probably want to retake it.. I live in northeast TN by the way, and plan to go to college in my area...preferably within <100 miles from where I live.. |

You're just better off taking both. Some colleges are really picky when it comes to what type of Standardized testing discipline out there. I say you should take both because you may decide to go to a college (after going to a previous college) that accepts a completely different Standardized Testing discipline. |

I think a lot of colleges just pick the higher score between the SAT and ACT, though most higher level schools like Ivy League require you to take both and score well on both. |

I got a 30 on the ACT, as well. :) I'm a premed student at the University of Michigan, and I took nothing but the ACT. So I think the ACT would be enough, but if you're planning on going anywhere out of state, the SAT might be highly recommended if not required. |
