Applying to Ivy league.
|
Yeah, so. It's about that time when I should be applying to college and I have some pretty good options. I've been taking a bunch of AP classes and I'm doing well in all of them, right now I'm pulling like a 4.7. I do spring track, a lot of music courses, mock trial, and a bunch of other shit. Do I have what it takes to get into Yale? My older sister went, and I loved the place when I went for her graduation. I'm really interested in going. I've been looking at Georgetown, Princeton, NYU, and some other places. I know I need a strong application paper, and I know I can do that. Uh, I was born in Ethiopia, so I guess that might be a positive factor. They liked the fact my sister was Ethiopian, so I guess it'll work the same for me. Right now, my big question is, how much of a chance to I have of getting into Yale, its my top choice? My guidance counslers dont' think I can get in, but their complete douche bags. I guess I should just apply because I have a chance, but I want to know if its worth it. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're doing everything just perfect, if you ask me. Even the birth country thing. 8P It's a shame that universities use that as such an important factor, but all the same. It will definitely work to help you out. 8P Don't bypass the filter again, or I'll tag your post. How did you do on your ACT / SAT? |

Sorry, bad habit. I got like a 1400 out of 1600 on my SATs. |

Also sounds good. Get plenty of community service in, and stay active in a number of groups and organizations so you can have plenty to put on your application... Those things will also give you a nicer pool of topics to draw from when writing your admissions papers. |
