There are 4 Dragonball movies, 13 DBZ movies, 2 DBZ TV specials, 1 DBZ OVA, 1 DBGT special, and there is a new upcoming Dragonball anime special in production and to be released later this year in Japan (which series it's based on is unknown).

As far as live-action goes: There was an unofficial Chinese live-action movie produced an upcoming official live-action movie coming out next year.

Goku/Gohan/Goten/Vegeta/Trunks/Nappa/Raditz/ Saiyas- Father of Goku.

Trunks/Gohan/Androids/Cell-History of Trunks...

Buu/Babidi/Bididi/Elder Kai etc- Explained in DBZ from the past from the explanations.

Master Roshi/Master Matamio/Master Kraine/General Tao Pai-Pai- Explained in Dragonball.

Kami/King Picoolo and his minions/Piccolo Jr./Mr. Po-Po- Explained in Dragonball (though there could be a Special of this and the previous one).

Tuffles/Baby/King Vegeta/Dr. Rachi(?)/ect- Explained in both DBZ and GT (Though a longer special of it might be cool).

That's it. There is only three specials that would be interesting and ONE of them would be good.

I'd assume since you could buy it as a stand alone OVA it would not be impossible to enjoy it without the video game. The contradictions most likely come from the plot itself because, from what I here, the OVA and video game sucked.

There will be a new Dragonball anime special later this year. What it's about, well the public doesn't know that yet...

Hey that would be interesting...who knows thoguh it could be dragonball/pre-dragonball or DBGT. But considering its a DBZ pic it will most likly be DBZ.

I'd assume it's not GT but Dragonball and DBZ are canidates. It's not in anyway confirmed to be DBZ. In fact, it's only confirmed to be based on Dragonball, but since that is the manga they're referring to it could be DB or DBZ...

A decent summary of what the humans lived through before they were introduced on tv?
