Once upon a time gt was a place of reverance, i spent almost an entire year on here to get away from the hell i called a life. I became respected in the community and loved the thought of being on here, having meaning even if it was with people that i would never meet in person. Gametalk taught me that i never had to see another person's face to fall in love with them, that there was more to another person then a booty call. Gt helped me to find decency in myself, no matter how much i doubted it. I loved this place, but steadily it has been overrun with morral filth, sexism, racism and the discusting parts of real life socity that we all know, but refuse to speak about except in the safety of our darkened bedrooms lit with the bright light of a computer screen. Now i barely come here, i am ashamed of gt, ashamed of the harassment,,the arrogance and the jouvinile acts commited here every day. Once upon a time i would tell everyone i could about what a great site this is, now i have trouble even thinking about it without some sort of discust or bitterness. So mike, even though i am sure you will never read this, i must hope that some person or mod will have the kindness to forward this to you.. Riddle me this master mike, why do you not just delete gt and rid yourself of this ruined piece of trash? I black eyed gaara...... Am unsure of why this site, this monumant, exists. Someone answer this please.

After reading your post, I asked myself what has really changed so drastically that it would cause this gentleman from feeling such a great inner joy to not being able to stomach it. It seems to me that the biggest visible change here at GameTalk is your attitude towards it. This site has never been this utopia of lush forests, sparkling waterfalls, and animals singing and frolicking in the grassy meadow that you described. There has always been garbage here. It's an internet message board where anyone can just post without signing up. You can't possibly expect every message to be considered that of amazing quality, especially under those circumstances, and I believe most people come here realizing this and deal with it accordingly simply because they love coming here. However, I find it to be an absolute shame that you allow these idiots to destroy something in which you used to hold so dear. So to answer your question, the site hasn't really changed all too much- Merely your opinion of it, is all. |

Nah, Black eyed hit it on the head... we're at a low-ebb. Speaking of which (and i know we aren't), check this out: "The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys" by Traffic www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVlbgqmxXNY Mellow out. A very cool tune right there. Reminds me of old movies for some reason. |

The above youtube link is the live version. The album version available on youtube at the moment plays low volume-wise, but is a bit clearer if you wanna pick out what Steve Winwood is actually saying/singing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XGjHWsH1aI |

Experience dictates Davais' post is more correct. Not saying he's wrong though. I was thinking something similar and was going to say that it happens to everyone in some sinister and evil way. I've been through a few batches of regs who experienced some opinion change of the site once they finally realize how stupid the internet can be. It happens every time when some form of community is created. You get posts like "I miss the good old days" or "What happened to this place?", etc. ...something along those lines anyway. He's was an internet virgin, minus the censorship GT imposes upon its inhabitants. Welcome to the internet, Gaara. You've got some sense now. |

Low-ebb made me think of low spark, which made me think of that song. And I said; "Speaking of which (and i know we aren't)", which is merely a segue, i know. |

I still can't figure out why Davias is so blind to Black Eyed's question. Despite his ignorance, it is quite clear he is directing the message to Mike, who has allowed this "internet message board where anyone can just post without signing up" to become a cesspool of incompetence. You, Davias, stick up for Mike too much. Your snide, derisive attitude really shows indifference to your fellow poster. Looking at the bright side solves nothing. Such philosophies will only allow GameTalk to deteriorate even more. |

"it is quite clear he is directing the message to Mike" Is that why it's entitled "ANYONE?" |

He's a helpless imbecile, who quite obviously believes the title 'ANYONE' will attract more people. |

Despite his ignorance, it is quite clear he is directing the message to Mike, who has allowed this "internet message board where anyone can just post without signing up" to become a cesspool of incompetence. Hmm. Yes, but what I was asking was what has really changed so much. Why does everyone consider this to be rock bottom and when exactly did we hit it? There have always been idiots here. There have always been obscene messages. There has always been some evil moderator everyone's complaining about. Mike has never updated the site as often as he needs to. You see, my point is that I see no evidence of deterioration as much as I do eyes being opened. I think the real question is when did you guys come out of your bubble and realize this was all going on? Did you used to have friends here who eventually left and now you have nothing better to do than look around, notice every flaw and think about how great things used to be? My advice would be to accept the fact that people come and go in order to potentially make new friendships and move on. If that isn't feasible for you, then I guess just leave. But, for God's sake, don't remain here and sulk in the corner just because your personal standards don't measure up to the great days of yore where GameTalk was populated by only professors and scholars. You, Davias, stick up for Mike too much. Your snide, derisive attitude really shows indifference to your fellow poster. Looking at the bright side solves nothing. Such philosophies will only allow GameTalk to deteriorate even more. Yes, let the record clearly show that I've always been Mike's biggest supporter and have agreed with every idea or thought he has ever had. Mike and I have never had an argument because we're best friends and I'm so positive about everything, which is why all the regs hate me. Anyone who knows me here can attest to these facts. |

"Your snide, derisive attitude really shows indifference" Oxymoron. Derogatory attitude =/= to an indifferent attitude. |
