The internet is not a baby sitter. If you're worried about what your son is doing online, it's up to you to monitor his internet usage, not to try and change the internet. |

My son is playing the game at this moment. Admittedly, he's hardly a child, but this game is not much worse than many other games, not as bad as some. If you're concerned about this game you should pay more attention to what your child is asking for in games, movies, and books. DeWayne is right. It's the parents' responsibility to watch what their children watch, play, browse, and read. I'm doing my job as a respectable mother, but I won't do yours. |

Although I'm unsure why you're railing against GTIV when you haven't researched it, I'll just say that this is a video game messageboard and it suits its purpose. Staffers help control undesirable content, but they aren't the kids' guardians and shouldn't be expected to act in that capacity. On that note, any mainstream media outlet--whether it be radio, computer, TV, word of mouth, smoke signals--is going to be buzzing with GTA4 for awhile, so it's an unwinnable uphill battle. |

stop whinning, and just dont buy him the game. if hes not a kid (im taking it he has a house) then you really have no control over the subject. me personnally, if ur "kid" isnt prone to violence in real life, why should you not buy it? GTA is for people that are angry AC/DC's, yet polite enough not to go to juvie for it. why are you even making it a point to tell us about it? we all have lives of our own, and there is no way to sugar coat this: no one cares. |

This website's focus is "games". While GT considers itself to be family friendly, if a parent has a problem with a game, I would expect them to monitor their child's Internet activity to make sure they aren't visiting sites they find unacceptable. If this really bothers you, consider not letting your child visit the site anymore. Either way, as Shotgun said, GTIV is a very popular game, and not having a forum about the game would be unfair and detrimental to the website. |

You shouldn't be worried about it if your a good parent. Video games aren't going to do anything to a kid unless they dont already know better. You shouldn't worry about more games like this either. This content is almost exclusive to GTA. There are plenty of others that are similar but none quiet as bad. |

The game of chess is all about warfare. Many classic novels are based on violent stories. But I doubt anyone ever became a pirate because the read Treasure Island. The point is, the video game is a game. Perhaps the interactive graphics make the user more involved, but it is still just a game. Unless your son is unable to differentiate between fact & fiction, the game is nothing to worry about. |

And just a tip for when you really do become a parent (because I am not buying your story), there is a simple way to deal with your son seeing the advertising and asking you to buy the game. Its a tip that seems to be forgotten by so many people. Its called "No". Try using it when you have kids someday. |

"Honestly, I never research games my sons ask for. Most parents are blind like me - but as soon a I saw this report, I was shocked." Why is anyone taking this person seriously? |
