Tip for Get Help with GameTalk Provided by: -BanjoTooie- Jan 4, 2008 Tips on How to Avoid Impersonation for New Users This tip is currently ranked 4.1 out of 5 by many voters. -BanjoTooie- has earned 4 gems! These tips will give you info on how to avoid being impersonated by another user. Here: Create a password. If you create a password with your username you will be almost totally safe from impersonators. However, people can get around the passwords by replacing lower case L's with uppercase i's and vice versa. For example: This is an i: I. This is an L: l. If you create a username with little to no uppercase i's or lowercase L's and a password, you will be perfectly fine. I'm not saying you can't have an account with any, but I'm just warning you on what could happen (Although it's not common). Next, is to have a fairly complicated password. Don't just have one like 123 or something, that could be the first password they check. Maybe put your favorite game, book, etc. Never, EVER give out your password to ANYONE! I really DO NOT like seeing people fall into traps. So, overall, make sure to create a password; remember about the i's and L's; make it fairly complicated; AND NEVER GIVE IT OUT TO ANYONE! If you really want a good password, you should code it. Such as write down a word. Example Then put a letter between each letter. EJxJaJmJpJlJe Then put a number between each of those letters. Nice Tip.. I had a Laptop once that used to put in my password automatically once i entered my nickname in, and i wasn't signed into my TGT, i will have to figure it out. Dont forget though, if you are the creator of a post, if an impersonator comes into play, you can usually tell, because the Main Poster's background is Blue. Well that was sort of the idea, Impersonaters are far worse the than the good old spammers, they can cause so much conflict between friends.then you have the job of getting a Mod to convince that person, it wasn't who they thought it was that actually posted w/e...seen it so many times. whats so hard of typing a few Xtra letters in before posting anyhow.
