True Vegetarians often lack Protein in their diets. This can be problematic. My sister was a Vegetarian, and when she got pregnant, with her first child, her OB/GYN told her that she had to go back to eating some meats, because her body needed the protein. Just like Diabetics have to have some carbs/sugar in their diets, or it messes up their keytone levels. You don't have to turn to red meat. Eating eggs is one sorce of protien. You can do research, and find out what foods will add protien into your current diet. And if you are wanting to just gain weight... I suggest cookies. :o) |

If you're being literally honest, I don't think you'd even be able to digest meat at this point. If you want fat, look into pastas, cookies, cake(all of which can be made vegan, too). And as for protein, plenty can be found in a vegetarian diet. You lose most of it when you cycle the energy through animals. |

"You lose most of it when you cycle the energy through animals." I think we already touched on that some time ago, but has come to be a generalized myth more than anything used by people who really don't entirely understand ecological processes, and usually those with a pretty biased agenda at that. I'd also have to ask why one wouldn't be able to digest meat after not eating for awhile? There shouldn't be any reason why one couldn't simply go back to eating meat without any major problems. |
