Um... not so sure but you just need to know the basic stuff like hydrogen is a cation (pos. charge) and Chlorine is an anion. You can tell the charge of an element by looking at the group (column, not row) in the periodic table. For example, everything below Cl such as Br and I are also have a negative -1 charge. Now if you want to know the overall charge of a COMPOUND, you just add up the charge (I don't think your question is this complicated, if you just need to know element, I already answered you, just look at the element periodic table). For example, HCl has a neutral net charge of 0 because H=+1 and Cl=-1... |
