Coruscant Park (Continued)
|
My last post "Nice to meet you," Lancer said as he began to walk with the others. Up ahead, the Temple loomed large in his sights, a place that held many memories for him. Granted, it wasn't the same Temple that he had spent so much time in; the Coruscant Temple had fallen and been rebuilt many times, most recently after Palīn's attack and Yuna Tribal's betrayal. But it was still the Temple, and the Temple was still there. From his early times within Axem Steel's Training Tower, working for the New Jedi Republic, to the times he had helped lead the Jedi in the one that had been destroyed by Palīn, the Temple had played a pivotal role within Lancer's life...perhaps only Yavin IV and Taris had had a greater impact on his life. And now he was returning again. "How long has it been?" he murmered to himself, his eyes glazing over slightly as he lost connection with the world around him and became immersed in his memories, both good in bad. There were the many times he had trained Ferus and Talon in the Temple, which was where he had Knighted the latter. There was the time he had returned to find the horrible specter of Penitence within the Temple. There were the many times he had met with friends such as Master Steel...and there was the time he had had his horrible premonitions of the destruction of the light and had seen that nearly come true in Palīn's attack. The Jedi stumbled, almost falling, as the latest memory flashed by him. He shook his head and sighed deeply; there were some memories, some mistakes, that cut too deeply to revisit now. MasterSpartan's last post Janus reached out to stop the man from falling. His smile was gone, a serious look on his face. "You alright, Sir?"

Lancer sighed and shook his head. "It's just...it's been so long...and..." Shaking his head once more, he straightened himself and continued walking. "Nothing. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern, though." Pointing towards the Temple ahead, partly attempting to change the subject, the Jedi stated, "We're almost there. Let's see if the Jedi Council is in, shall we?" Yet now that they were almost into the building, Lancer's pace slowed noticeably, and try as he might, it was as if his memories had taken hold of his legs and refused to let him go. |

"Take it at your own pace, Sir. No need to rush things." Janus said, although, he was admittedly a little nervous about entering the Temple as well. Who knew what he'd missed this time? |

Lancer shook his head. Was his discomfort that obvious? Evidently he hadn't been working nearly enough on the skills necessary for him to rejoin the ranks of the Jedi. Perhaps he should stop now and wait until he was back in tune...no. Not again. Lancer raised his head and started forward more purposefully. He had already made enough excuses to avoid this meeting, and it was time he stopped that. Making excuses was only going to keep him from doing what was right. Moving quicker now, Lancer reached the doors to the Temple, where he stopped and turned towards Janus. "Well, this is it," he said mildly, his voice betraying none of the weakness he had felt earlier. "And...I just want to say thank you." Lancer left it at that and hoped Janus would understand what he meant. What else was there to say? Janus, probably unintentionally, had contributed to the current determination he had coursing through his veins, and this determination, he knew, would be enough to get him through and back into the galaxy at large. |

Janus nodded with a knowing grin. He was vaguely aware that he'd helped out the Master, but he wasn't sure why he'd needed it, and he wasn't going to press the Kel Dor for info on his reasoning. If he wanted to tell Janus, he would, simple as that. Truth be told, Janus had his own doubts, but he pushed them to the back of his head as he leaned forward to open the doors. "After you, Master Onasi.", he said with a bow. |

Two weeks ago, a day ago, even a couple of minutes ago, the Jedi would have hesitated before entering the great Temple. But now, with all doubt erased from his mind and with a new surge of determination, Lancer didn't even think twice about it. His first step into the Jedi Temple was like stepping directly into a memory. Sure, the Temple wasn't the same as the ones he had stayed in before, but it still managed to evoke memories, pleasant ones now as opposed to the dark ones that had up till now plagued him. Lancer gave a happy sigh and began to run. He didn't know why, didn't know where, but he ran anyways, his light clothing moving easily with him. Up stairs, down stairs, through hallways, in and out of side rooms, Lancer ran, his eyes closed and his senses open. Once again, the Jedi Master felt home. |

((Hope you guys don't mind me joining?)) Vermin, all of them. The Jedi and their precious Force. Yet once again Atrum was forced to walk along side them... He appeared to be wearing basic Coruscant clothing, the sort that a middle class person would wear on the planet. And his hair, black and short but he could still feel a gentle wind blow through it... Ah yes, and not to forget his Force Immunity conjured up by a combination of nanites and ysalamiri (sp?) DNA running through his viens. His one advantage over the Jedi, immunity to their invisible magics. All he had to do was plant the organic device that lay dormant in his pocket, in one of the lower parts of the Temple. In and out, efficient. If only it were that simple, no doubt some Jedi would notice how they couldn't sense him in the Force. Hopefully they would keep quiet and away... Or maybe not, he could never kill one- not while they had lightsabers, but he had always liked the idea of being something of a mystery to Force Users. Maybe he would get lucky. Maybe one would talk to him... Then he caught sight of the Jedi Temple's entrance. Two men- they looked like men from this distance, and then one ran off inside the Temple. 'Lancer identified... Primary Directive override...' CABAL's vocie said in his head. Thanks to the nanites he had a permenant conenction to the AI, oh how annoying it sometimes became. 'You must re-locate Lancer Onasi.' Great, now he had to find Lancer and place the device... That would be a nuisance. Atrum began jogging up the stairs that led to the Temple's entrance, missing a few steps as he ascended them. With any luck the he would be able to follow the second Jedi, which would maybe take him straight to Lancer. |
