Coruscant Underworld - The First Step

((The next few paragraphs aren’t too relevant to the roleplay. So skip ahead if you want.))

The Coruscant underworld, by name alone it obviously wasn’t one of the most tourist booming areas. Only the scum of the planet would ever venture down here, or in most cases, live down here. That or historians. Armed ones at any rate, since the undercity of Coruscant did hold quite a few artifacts from early Coruscant life, along with criminals alike. But all that wasn’t necessary at the time, for she wasn’t here to study Coruscant or go searching for any criminals. Well, she was here to find a certain criminal. But she wasn’t here to find the pathetic thieves and rapists that littered the undercity.

Her robes swaying behind her with each step, her lightsaber already ignited. The blue beam shining down on whatever was around her, which was really just dirty water, filth covered criminals succumbing to their desperation, and abandoned vehicles that were most likely far too damaged to operate. She was taking note of far too much at the moment, but she had to. The criminal she was searching for resided deep into the Coruscant underworld, living amongst human-infected beasts, and other odd malicious creatures. But she knew where to find him, because she had visited him before. In fact she was related to this man, only through marriage though. So he was a human.

The streets were quiet and only an occasional moan would be heard. Most likely the beasts that stalked down here. Continuing her path by memory she eventually found herself facing a rather beat-up small apartment that had been abandoned long ago. All lights were knocked out and it was covered in a variety of filth. Stepping into the apartment the only light that lit up the broken furniture and destroyed walls was her lightsaber, but it was enough.

Stepping down the halls, she eventually came across a specific door. Using the force to rip the doorway open she stepped through. The man she had been searching for, her cousin looked up to her in surprise. Not that he could see anything. He had gone blind long ago.

Man: “…W-who’s there?”

Though she did not answer, but she would soon regardless. Probably not with the answer he was hoping for.

”The Force no longer needs you.”

Man: “W-what? Desra? Is that you? Des-“

His body was pushed out by a strong force, completely through the wall behind him and out the apartment building. This would not kill him, however the beasts that waited below would. Upon his abrupt exit the infected-humans would look at him only as pray, and that what he would become. Slowly the devoured him alive.

((Below is the relevant stuff.))

Leaving the abandoned apartment she looked around her, at Coruscant’s undercity. Placing her lightsaber on her waist she looked ahead to the corpse that once was her cousin. However there was far too much removed to ever make that guess. Had she not be the cause of his death, she wouldn’t be able to recognize him. But she sighed looking around her, thinking on what to do next. The Jedi were a dying bunch, and it was about time they all were annihilated. But she couldn’t possibly achieve their domination on her own, so perhaps she would have to seek out another? Perhaps Devic, and in turn Redack as he had apparently been working with him.

At least that’s what she got from her vision. When she used Psychometry on Devic’s ship. But either way she thought to go and search out Redack. It would be difficult to find him so she would need some kind of lead. She couldn’t just use her vision either, as it wasn’t too precise. Perhaps Devic would prove useful in this area. But where was he? She once again began her little walk down the Coruscant underworld, however not in the direction that would remove her from this shit-hole, but would have her move deeper into it.

Devic walked silently in the undercity of Coruscant. It was the most disgusting place he'd ever seen. This is one reason why this place should be destroyed. As Devic walked he kept looking at the roses he had in his hands. He was on the prowl. The prowl for Desra Lodet to be precise. He had followed her down here. Next thing he knew she went into an apartment and he hard a crashing noise. He felt one life in the room extinguish and Desra walk out again.

"Hmm, some Jedi she is. Major turn on." Devic said to himself as he looked back down to the roses. The redness of them matched the blade of his lightsaber, which was a dark crimson red color. He followed her a moments longer. Then he suddenly stopped.

"Oh Desra my dear, its a wonderful coincedence seeing you down here," He looked up and down her body. "These are for you." He extended his hand that held the flowers. He wondered how she would react to such a gesture.

She looked at the flowers, and then Devic. Was it by the Force’s will that he was here? Or was it simply coincidence? Either way she couldn’t afford to let him go now. She required him to get to Redack. But out of her usual paranoia, she built up emotional barriers that consisted of a fairly calm attitude and fairly random thoughts. How to build a lightsaber, the most effective place to strike an opponent, and so on. She kept her true thoughts in the deepest end of her mind. But turning and facing him now, she took the flowers in hand.

”Thank you. Though, what is a Sith doing here in the anus of Coruscant?”

She found what he said about it being a coincidence find her down here rather ironic, since that would mean he was apparently carrying around flowers for the simple hell of it. But regardless after her question she took a brief moment to sniff them, and then smile in a slight way. But all the while she was keeping note of Devic’s movements, even the slightest. She didn’t like to be caught off guard just in case he was down here to assassinate her or something.

"Hmm. Straight to the point as always, aren't we darling? Well, I just came down here for a stroll, ya know?" Devic said with a smile, he walked over to a wall just so he could lean up against it. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and opened it. "One left. Awesome." He frowned a minute and pulled it out and lit it with a deep inhale.

He exhaled slowly. "Now, the better question is, what is a beautiful girl like you doing down here? Oh, and might I add your Jedi?" Devic threw the pack down.

"And, I hope you like the roses, fresh picked." Devic took note of her smile. "You have a lovely smile." Devic then flashed her his own smile.

"This is a lovely start to a date, don't you think?" Devic grinned a little wider.

“Well down here among the petty criminals and human-infected beasts, I feel very pretty next to them.”

That, of course was not the reason she was down here. But…she felt like saying it so why the hell not? Now she wasn’t entirely interested in his ‘hardened’ flirts, but it did make her notice he was fairly attractive himself. But nonetheless she wasn’t about to tell him to stop with his advances. She didn’t want to chase him away now, since she required him. But she was beginning to think that he saw what happened between her and the man, which wasn’t entirely good. Because he may allow it to slip to the Jedi, who she needed to keep in the dark for the time being.

”But I had to loosen some knots that were keeping me down.”

She then lowered the flowers, still smiling a bit. Saying this in a more jokingly tone.

”What? A Jedi can’t hang out with the scum?”

"Well, Im not saying you can't but, let me give you some advice that mother used to say. You hang with shit, your gonna smell like shit. Understand beautiful? We wouldn't want you smelling bad, especially not for the Jedi, now would we? Not like I would want to jepordize you and the Jedi's relations." Devic said smiling. Desra was still smiling too, which was always good. Devic took an inhale of his cigarette once more and gave a slow exhale again, turning his head away from Desra, so not to get smoke on her.

"Now, Im not sure I like the idea of hanging around talking openly in the undercity, you know? So, why don't we go someplace more fitting for our date, shall we?" Devic began walking away from Desra, if she wanted she could follow, he had the perfect place in mind.

Devic stopped a few meters from where he was origanally and dropped the cigarette and continued to walk away.

She followed, though she took his comment on jeopardizing her relations with the Jedi to mind. At the very thought of it, she couldn’t help but laugh a little. Walking on Devic’s right, she spoke.

”I doubt I could harm my relations with the Jedi any more. I kill my opponents, I’ve killed almost my entire family, I’ve betrayed the Jedi order twice now, and I’ve befriended Sith before, and I fight using Sith teachings. Not even sure why I’m still a Master, to be honest.”

She sighed though, but not one that was depressed or something. One where she simply needed to take in her surroundings. Though she was unsure what to do with these flowers…she didn’t quite carry a jar of water around with her, and the chemicals in this undercity would probably leave the flowers to death soon. Ah well, she’d just carry ‘em around a bit more. If she managed to get some water first, then they’ll live. If not, then the undercity will claim them. Either way she was happy.

”So, we’re on a date now? Does that mean I’m a bad-girl?”

She was referring to his comment the last time they met.

The darkness hides an infinite many things, some dangerous, some friendly. It does not judge, it only conceals. The whole premise of the dark shroud that was cast into the depths of this place was purely to intimidate the few who wondered carelessly about this downtrodden abode. The few who exploited the sunless area of the city for invisibility, the crooks, the thieves, the monsters, those were the true danger, not the darkness itself. But would someone with such simple demeanor poise a threat to two force users? No, probably not.

He followed intently behind her at first, making sure he had cloaked himself and as far as vision and force detection were concerned, and he did one hell of a job. He was nothing in the blackness, yet he was everything the imagination could lead a person to believe was there. He was now a part of the coming storm, and he would let his presence be known, regardless the repercussions of interrupting this "meeting". A shrill voice would echo, bouncing off the catacombs of cement at first and then making its way to the intended destination, filling the ears of Desra with its sounds.

"A bitter end you left me to live with last time we spoke, Desra. Why would you wish me away from you?... am I that much a failure in your eyes, losing all faith before I even started?"

Devic chuckled a bit and looked into Desra's eyes, and then looked away quickly. "Well, your bad enough for me. Which is odd, usually around people Im hardened, and vicious, but around you Desra, Im suprisingly sweet." Devic smiled. He continued to walk beside Desra. The next thing he knew, his feet had taken them out of the undercity and under the cool night sky and into a little park on Coruscant. He found a bench and sat down.

"Come on Desra, have a seat next to me, I have something I want to ask you, which by the way I think is pretty important." Devic watched her, looking up her legs and into her eyes once again. He waited for her to take a seat.

“Roy…”

She spoke his name softly, a smirk crossing her lips. She did not turn around or even make any physical acknowledgment of him, other than speaking his name of course.

”Perhaps I sent you away, so that you could become stronger? Have you not? Do you still cling to the Jedi’s restrictions? Their lies about mastery of the Force through peace? I sense strength in you Roy, fueled by what the Jedi call an abomination.”

That what was all she was going to leave him. For she was now in the park with Devic, and regardless of Roy being there or not she would not simply ignore Devic. She listened to his words and smiled, replacing her previous smirk. The subtle difference between them would be made obvious by the subsequent change. Although Devic had lowered her guard somewhat she was now once more completely aware, just in case Roy decided to act on his anger and attack her. Tracing his movements, as well Devic’s now. She wouldn’t make it too obvious, as she may aware them to her paranoia.

Though now lowering onto the bench she made no response on his apparent admitting of acting sweeter around her. But she would instead ask him what it was that he wanted to ask her. While keeping her paranoid subtle, she began to fuel her own paranoia. Perhaps they had planned this? Both she had abandoned as Padawan, and both had gone to the darkside.

”What is it that you want to ask me, Devic?”

Devic became weary of Desra's paranoia now, and he decided that now wasn't the best time to ask her anything. Devic arose from the bench and began to walk away.

"Oh, I almost forgot, here." Devic pulled out a comm. link from under his cloak. "I'll contact you when I think it is a suitable time for me to ask the question." Devic smiled at her once more and blew her a kiss, as he disappeared into the night...

"That humors me Desra... so experienced, so powerful... yet still so feeble minded. Least we forget only a year or so ago you were preaching to a different tune. Unfortunately I listened to that one, and despite my mishaps here or there, I dedicated myself to only that one tune. You on the other hand... you grow weaker with each waking moment. Grow up Desra... don't fall prey so easily. I know the true power of the Jedi, perhaps one day you too could find it. But not now, not unless you give it a chance."

The ignition snap of a lightsaber would fill the air around the trio, with the soft hum hanging around as an afterthought. A crimson glow would exhume the darkness of the area where Kavis had been standing, and it illuminated the bottom half of his face hidden by the shadow of his hood. A soft grin gradually spread across his lips as he moved the lightsaber away from his body and pointing it in a hard line towards Roy. Still grinning, Kavis began to walk towards the group, his left hand, not holding his lightsaber slowly moving backwards.

In the palm of his left hand, slowly danced a flicker of fire that gradually flowed like liquid around the cup of his fist. The flame, like his grin, was growing ever larger as he approached Roy.

Listen to this. He knows the true power of the Jedi. He knows nothing!

Kavis' voice gradually grew in power as he finished his approach towards Roy and Desra.

Draw your saber, boy.

“True power of the Jedi? Something that does not exist. Life isn’t as simple as good or evil, Jedi and Sith. You hold yourself back believing such. The Jedi and Sith are very similar. Those that follow each ideal however, are very different. Some Sith destroy only to destroy, while others destroy to better the future in the end. While some Jedi defend only because they have nothing else, and others defend because they choose to. Not one teaching is truer than the next, so don’t preach me child. Your lessons are no better than Anarcus’, Ridifu’s, or any other.”

She stood, taking the com. link she received from Devic. She then spoke once more.

”You’re still young. It’s better to listen, then to speak.”

With that she turned and made her way off.

"Curiosity has gotten the best of you, eh? Well, listen closely, Desra. I have grown stronger, perhaps stronger than anyone standing here now with you in your deteriorating state. I can't force you to come back to the light, but I'd like to think I could show you what I am saying..."

"And as for you, newcomer, mind your own business... I have a feeling you are going to regret doing what you are about to do with the little flame, bud."

The voice echoed off the trees in the park, coming from all directions, but never the less, landing in the ears of his intended targets.

I said... Draw. Your. Saber.

Kavis' grin drew slowly inward until it became a hard frown. Roy would feel a telekinetic hand gripping at his throat. At the same time, He threw his left hand forward, extending a serpent of flame that exploded hissing towards him. A cobra slithering forth from Kavis' hand would engulf Roy's torso, a flaming cone of dragon fire incinerating him in a flurry of horrible firey death.

She sighed, it was always the young ones that were so idiotic. It was like he ignored her entire speech about there being no separation between the light and dark. He was even a hypocrit, as he showed far more signs of the ‘darkside’ than she did. Yet he still claimed the Lightside. There was no point in helping him; the Galaxy would end in better condition if he were to fall. So she would not get in Kavis’ way, nor would she speak on this matter any longer.

However she would have spoken again, but at the sense of the force being drawn by Kavis she quickly leaped backwards a few feet away from the battle. So she could watch out of harms way. She had no intention to help either one of them. Despite how foolish Roy was.

Desra Lodet

Foolish, foolish Kavis. Play with fire, you'll get burnt my friend. As the man had already given off his position with the small flame brewing in his palm, he had unwittingly swung a force choke into the darkness... but the darkness was vast, and Roy as previously stated was cloaked. Both with the force and with the sense of sight, so what Kavis was attacking, was merely a hobo, stretching his legs after a nice nap, getting ready for dumpster diving as he was growing increasingly hungry. Before Kavis could tell his fatal error and correct it, Roy had reacted. As the cone flame expanded five feet infront of Kavis, now so hot it could melt sheet metal like butter, Kavis would feel Roy's force and position. But only because Roy had to uncloak to launch a deadly force push straight to Kavis' back. It would hit directly since Kavis had not been aware of the position and would not be able to tell Roy had done anything since he was just coming out of the cloak behind him. If the man was struck with the push, he would launch forward in the air, losing control of his body he would go straight through the fire, either killing him or boiling his skin and forcing him to sustain third degree burns.

"Goodbye, friend."

( My cake attack is void because I didn't realise I couldn't see Roy. Maybe I should actually read, as apposed to skimming. Roy agrees to the void. )

Kavis frowned, his lightsaber disigniting in his hand. The red blade slid quickly back into the hilt, the red glow dissipating back from where it came. Clipping his lightsaber back on to his belt, he brought both of his hands up. His right hand drew his hood back down as he looked towards Desra. His left hand illuminated his face with the liquid flames. He sighed at his inability to attack Roy, and he summed all of it up by speaking to the one person he could see.

We meet again, Desra Lodet.

“Apparently so, Kavis.”

He apparently couldn’t attack without actually seeing Roy. She too was unable to see him, and he was also using an ability to hide his force presence as well. It should be draining him of energy at the moment, so even if he did attack he wouldn’t be at full strength.

”But I will be taking my leave now.”

With that she turned and began to walk away.
