Sunscrenn does not cure skin cancer, it PREVENTS IT. I am currently being treated for actinic keratosis (AK, a pre-cancer condition) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC, actual cancer). Both of these as well as most damage to the skin is caused by ultraviolet exposure. This exposure is primarly from the sun but can also be from prolonged exposure to flourescent lights (men only). The people pushing flourescent lights as a power saving measure simply don't tell you about this. Sunscreen can protect you against both sources. As for the rest, the recommended diet for diabetics (which is based on science rather than BS) Is 50% carbohydrates (complex for type I diabetics and most people), 30% protein (animal or vegetable or both) and 20% fats (preferably vegetable). The minimum amount of meat REQUIRED for good human nutrition is exactly zero. Meat consumption should be kept at a low level if possible. The Atkins diet fad was merely a multi-million dollar media blitz by the meat industry to make up for the 50 countries that banned US meat because of the Mad Cow scare. In January of 2004, the FDA announced strict new guidelines on cattle feed which sere supposed to prevent the spread of MCD. In July of 2004, they quietly dropped the guidelines due to complaints from the livestock industry. There is no effective control of MCD in the US. As a sidelight, the outbreak of MCD which began in Britain has been traced to the use of human corpses from India and Pakistan as cattle feed (they fish them out of the Ganges river). |

Then why do we buy from Pakistan and India, may I ask? o.o And the recommended diet that actually -works- is a Mediterranian diet filled with fruits, whole grains, and veggies. Try it. =) |
