So, this is college as in a place to study A Levels rather than a Degree right? You've got nothing to worry about. College was probably one of the most enjoyable times of my life. You're treated like an adult, you get a lot more freedom, and you spend a lot less time studying than you do at school. It's scary when you're about to start, as with most new situations, but you'll easily settle in, and you'll enjoy it once you do. I remember when I was about to start University a year or so ago, I felt terrified and upset, because I had to leave behind my friends and families, and do everything for myself. It made everything seem hopeless, which seems to happen when there's one significant thing bothering me. Perhaps you'll feel better once you settle in to college. And aren't you Ice Cream Girl? Don't take this the wrong way, but you have no reason to hate how you look. Honest. Is there anything specifically that's getting you down, or is it just a general feeling? |

If you REALIZE you have low self-esteem, stop it! That's all there is to it. Just stop it. |

I don't understand. You realize what your problem is, but you can't help yourself why?... |

Ah right. Well that's difficult. Is it just depression, or other problems too? |

I don't understand. You realize what your problem is, but you can't help yourself why?... Because depression is an actual disorder, not just 'feeling down'. |

No, depression is just that. "Feeling down" for a while. You'll get over it soon enough. |

Well, I have built a reputation as a troll. But yeah, it's the truth. They have such low willpower and pathetic self-esteem it makes me sick that they think it's a "disease". |

I think they can all be brought under depression. It's a pretty complex thing. The solution is probably with a professional, but you say your doctors don't think it's a bad as you think? Maybe you're not telling them enough. Or maybe they're just crap doctors. |

Well you obviously don't know enough about it then Johnny. What about manic depression? Is that just people who just like freaking out, going off to Ireland for a laugh, taking cars apart and building them up again, and then feeling like they want to kill themselves? Or perhaps is it a genuine mental disorder? It's been established that depression is a mental disorder. It might be triggered by 'feeling down', but then most mental disorders are triggered by something else. There's a load of evidence to support it. So deal with it. |

I'd have to say, the best way, not the only way, but the best way to solve those kinds of problems is to go out into the world and start doing something with your life. Something that makes you proud of yourself. |

Manic depression is essentially minor insanity. Normal depression, like Sherry has, is just being a freak that nobody invites to parties. |

Can you identify anything in particular that's making you depressed, or is it just a feeling with no particular reason for feeling it? |

Your worst and only enemy is yourself. Until you can come to peace with yourself, you will never be able to break free of this. You have to decide to be happy. No one can help you with that. |

You just need to just relax. Talk to someone and try to get a new pet. When you feeling down just hold it. Try to accomplish something. I.E. Write a book, go hiking, eat your favorite food, build something. |
