Vista and OSX
|
I'm tired of the people who say Microsoft copied stuff from Mac OSX for Vista. First of all, Microsoft was planning vista before mac thought of OSX. Or so I have read. Also, saying Micrsoft copied the stuff like the search thing, gadgets, and photo program, is like saying Mac copied Microsoft for stuff like the keyboard, music program, and speakers. Stuff like the search program is something all computers should have like a text program. (Microsoft word) Which brings me to this: Macintosh can't create it's own programs, a lot of their programs are made by micrsoft. Not just word, excel, and power point, I've seen microsoft logos on some other programs around the macs, but sometimes they're hidden because apple doesn't want you to know that they didn't make it.

Doesn't matter. Gates pulled Apple out of the abyss and that's what counts if you're a real fanboy. I'm not. That aside, a lot of idiotic grudge mongers still bite the hand that saved their purr-worthy children. ~(roll)~

Anyways, Apple knows when to make their own programs and when not to. Microsoft Office is a great example. Apple has its own versions (pages and keynote for word/powerpoint), but what do they advertise? Office--there was a whole commercial based around it. S'all I gotta say, not a fan of Vista, I like OSX more. So, I use OSX. If you wanna use Vista do it. |

Do you mean DT shortcuts? No. Some guy did that in his office for his own convenience. Someone ELSE took it and ran. ~(roll)~

Let's just look at this logically... The original Mac OSX came out in 2001...the year Windows XP came out... I think Apple was planning OS X before it was released...don't you? Or is Apple so godly that they just decided to release a brand new operating system...from nothing... That's got to be it! |

OSX was released near the time XP was released, nowhere near Vista's launch. Before you begin to think Macs suck, consider this true story: Macintosh was the first to invent the computer. While the Mac was still in development, Bill Gates (now the owner of Microsoft) copied the way the Mac was designed and changed it around - Bacically stealing the blueprints right from Steve Jobs. Somehow, Bill Gates' theft of the computer was declared legal and, when released, had been modified to be better than the apple computer. If Apple had never made the first computer there would be no Microsoft, Bill Gates would be poor and Xerox (which helped Apple in building the computer) would have the highest technology related to a computer in todays' world. Apple should be the top computer in the market but its not. Why? Because Bill Gates is a theif, thats why. So don't you EVER say Apple stole from Windows, because Apple practically helped create Windows in the first place. Epedemical |

Bull. Your statement pisses me off. Macintosh has Microsoft Office for those (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Entorauge) apps in a single microsoft package which you have to purchase no matter what OS you have, you idiot, so MS Word doesn't come free with windows. Also FYI: I don't see the Microsoft label on iTunes, come to think of it I don't remember seeing them on iDVD, Safari, iMovie, or GarageBand. Next time look for facts before you make a statement. No one should be arguing preference. It's a personal thing. Additionally, thieving is paramount to mimicing, don't you think? Also, most automobile prototypes were developed independent of one another. That this person has his road-worthy first doesn't at all mean that his idea has been ripped by anyone else. They would have been put to world-wide use no matter who thinks who came up with the idea first. The entire PC/Mac war has always been a waste of bandwidth, so please put a lid on it. |

Yes but the first automobile was created by the person who designed it. Copying after release is one thing but copying, modifiying, and producing a cloned object at the same time as its' original is publicly released, is indeed theft. Epedemical |
