I'm seriously not trying to knock Macs; it's just common knowledge that they're typically used for professional work, whereas Windows is the gaming system. |

If the knowledge is that common then why did you bother? The clear problem is with your original statement. They're as capable a gamer as any Windows-based PC, with the only 'problem' being the comparative availability of software titles. I suppose that this is one way of saying that your reaction has much more to do with Jobs and his elitist attitude. And, I don't think I'll ever question the sanity of praising someone who intentionally deprived Mac devotees of thousand of apps. You may have to threaten a Mac devotee with physical harm to get that properly explained. |

with the only 'problem' being the comparative availability of software titles It's not like there are that many anymore, either. Almost every really popular PC game has a Mac counterpart within a few years. For instance, Halo for Macs exists :P |

"It's not like there are that many anymore, either." That means maybe one fewer than yesterday? I'm not here to dispute your claim but you can see how vague and essentially useless that level of affimation is. |

"Mac games" is an oxymoron, and so is "Apple Works." |

Not that many differences between Mac and PC game availability as of right now: Mac games just take a little bit longer (oh, up to a few years) to come out. Other then that, the difference in availability of titles is only at your local shop, not across the board. My apologies for being vague, of course. |

Considering Windows now runs on Apple computers, Apple is now the lead gaming computer brand as far as computer speed and graphics go. "Welcome to the age of PC games, best played on Macs." Epedemical |

I don't understand how native four-core and always-on-the-cutting-edge graphics makes the PC worthy of derision. Unless you can show otherwise, Apple has never been on the bleeding edge of performance, no matter what Jobs manages to get by with without being sued. Gaming benchmarks posted by an independent site will do, long as a proper gaming PC is represented in the same article(s). Should be no problem for you to support your present conclusion, unless you're only here to toot Apple's horn. |

"Top Ten Reasons for Upgrading to a PC instead of a Mac: 1. You enjoy reading computer manuals 2. Buying parts 'not included' is your idea of being patriotic 3. Blaming it on the PC is a great excuse... for anything 4. Tech support is your idea of telephone dating5. Your favorite computer game is figuring out where your files are6. You look forward to today's new virus (or worm, or both) 7. You like listening to telephone support hold-button music 8. Letting the kids play on the Mac next door frees your time (eliminates after-school kid sitters) 9. You think Bill Gates deserves the money 10. You have nothing better to do with all the extra time"Epedemical |

I thoroughly enjoyed that. Granted, if this has been your experience then you've reason enough to regret your purchase. But still, from a gaming standpoint I've yet to see the PC surpassed, and I am always interested in examining concurrently-run comparisons. As has been, my own bias in this forum is against negative bias itself. If there are hard, consistent numbers to support a personal choice then a performance preference doesn't need to be explained, because the numbers are there. A personal preference is equally defensible, as that is all that it needs to be. By contrast, a divisive approach will never be indefensible and, in some instances, simply won't be tolerated. |

I agree that PC gaming, may be better than Mac gaming. But still, If you want to play solitaire, buy a PC. If you want to do anything else, get a Mac. :D Epedemical |
