not to rain on your parade, but this news is over a year old. also, just because it's the end of the Prime storyline doesn't mean it's the end of 3D Metroid Games. they'll just put a different story in them. |

And actually the Metroid that ends the story is Metroid Fusion which chronologically is the last metroid (Till Metroid Dread comes out that is...) |

Dread was cancelled though. anyway, i'm not sure they can create a Metroid game that takes place after Fusion. for one, Ridley is dead. we know this because we fought an X-parasite that had taken the form of Ridley. 2 is because i don't think that Samus can even be harmed by Metroid anymore. remember that part of Fusion where you got to the lab with all the Metroids in it? when you had to escape from it, none of the Metroids even harmed you. granted, they were merely hatchlings, but touching them should have done some damage. because of the Metroid DNA Samus now has in here genes, she basically is part Metroid. or, maybe they will. i don't know. |

there is gonna be a game after fusion!!! the metroid prime seires is its own little time line that takes place after the origenal metroid and theve probobely make some other 3D metroid games in some other time peroid |

I wish all these "the Metroid series is dying!" people would get it through their head that Retro doesn't control a twenty-year-old Nintendo franchise. |

i never said the Metroid was dying. i was just saying that there probably wouldn't be a game that takes place chronologically after Fusion. i love Prime and i love all of the 2D games. i think the Metroid series is as alive as ever. |

ok lets, the spase pirats can geneticlay alter some of the metroids. so they see samus as an enmey and half the metroid games dont have ridely in them eny way |

I wouldn't count on this being the last Metroid. I heard that this is the last Metroid game Retro will make. |

I wasn't talking about you, OOMC. And as for Ridley being dead for good, let's take a look at his track record: Zero Mission: Was blown to smithereens, rebuilt into very immobile cyborg, which was defeated, and left in a ship that was set to explode. Unless he revived and dragged himself out of the blast radius in the space of three minutes, he should be dead. Prime: He was given a much better cyborg life support, but then robbed of his wings, blasted in the chest by a dozen beams when he had no health, and sent plummeting hundreds of feet and was caught in a tremendous explosion. Super: Somehow the whole “falling without wings and blowing up” experience apparently helped Ridley recover to the point where he doesn’t need life support. Then he gets defeated by Samus, and his body parts are scattered across the room. Given that kind of record, the X infection and crumbling apart does nothing to convince me Ridley’s dead. |

Yeah, theyll have some explanation for it, cos I was wondering too why in Super Metroid he looked so healthy and fully organic whereas in Prime he looks cybernetic, and Prime comes before it so... |

Its nearly impossible to sort out the timeline in the metroid series. Everything seems so random that I think they weren't that worried about the story. |
