Inspired? Definitely. Still, they're quite different enough to keep any plagarism charges from arising. Head to the Metroid Database and it draws parallels between the four Alien movies and Metroid 1-4. And just so you know, each Alien movie pre-dates its "corresponding" Metroid game. |

Metroid: 1986 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroid) Alien: 1979 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_%28film%29) Given the use of Ridley in the Metroid series, it's rather likely that Metroid was in part inspired by Ridley Scott's Alien film. ... Which *came out earlier*, making it impossible for Metroid to inspire it. |
