Whats your favorite metroid?

For me,i like metroid zero mission the most,i beat it 27 times(Yes i count),with my record time being 37 minutes and 45 seconds(i HAVE no life D':),heres a list of my favorite metroid games with 1 being the best =D

(8)Metr id-where it all started...i loved this game, but i hated how hard the mother brain boss battle was,its a very short game, but yet VERY challenging,THE BEST NES TITLE EVER(Screw zelda)!!!!

(7) uper Metroid-Beta metroid,i dont see why you love this game THAT much...music got anoyying after a while, wall jumping is hard(I love wall jumping),and i just got bored with it real easy -_-

(6)Metroid Fusion-My freind told me about this game,he had the game for a week, but was stuck on boss #1,i tried helping him but noooooooooo."shut up!!! i know what im doing!!!",then i got it,i beat it in 4 days,....when he was stuck on serris xD

(5)Metroid prime hunters-Great game...Nuff said

(4)Metroid Prime 3-TALK TALK TALK,although the talking made the game easier to understand what was going on,I hated the stackable beam weapons! D:i thought this was the worst prime game EVER!!!

(3)Metroid Prime-MY VERY FIRST METROID GAME,back then, there were no game stores by my house,so i just kept renting it xD,Ridley looked AWSOME in this game!and his boss battle was the most fun,So far i beat it 75%!i read the ridley trophy on Super Smash Bros.Brawl, and it said he murdured samus's parent!:O,me and this game have a LOT of history!

(2)Metroid Prime 2-I ABSOLUTALY LOVED THIS GAME!!!I love the idea of going to a dark world and light world, the thing i hated most was the ammo for dark beam, light beam, and anhialator beam.i loved how big the bosses were in the prime games!!!

(1)Metroid:Zero Mission-THE VERY BEST,i beat it over and over again,my first agme to get 100% on!My record time is 37 minutes and 45 seconds!i wish they made another side scrolling metroid game D':

I never play metroid 2 return of samus or metroid prime pinball, but i would like to.As you can see...I LOVE METROID!!!!

My top 8

(8) Metroid Zero Mission. This game was a bit of a let down for me, the graphics were good, the music was lousy and the game was too easy. Bosses fall with little effort and you get your best powerups too late into the game for them to really be of any use.

(7) Metroid II: Return of Samus. This game was okay, the music was actually pretty catchy, the gameplay was difficult, which made it fun and the graphics were crap(seeing as it is an OLD game.) With no map, you could end up roaming aimlessly for hours on end, but the upgrades are some of the best in the series, well, the Spider Ball is the only one that I can consider as being the "best".

(6) Metroid Prime Hunters. The game's graphics were great, the music was lovely and the multiplayer was magnificent. My only problem is the single player game, it was a little bland and was pretty much same ol' same ol'.

(5) Metroid Prime. Though it was my very first Prime game, I don't like it as much as I remember. The graphics were magnificent and the gameplay was flawless, the battles were awesome and the boss battles were gargantuan. It was cool to see a redux of Ridley in it, the Meta-Ridley looks badass. This one is the spookiest game, but it's also got that level of tediousness(collecting Artifacts.)

(4) Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. A step up from Metroid Prime one, this game's graphics seemed smoother than it's Prime 1 counterpart. The weapon system was a little odd, but I got used to it fast. The battles with the Ing were quite fun and the boss battles were just like the battles in the first one...gargantuan.

(3) Metroid Fusion. The very first Metroid game I have ever had the pleasure of completing. Great graphics, cool music, interesting enemies, intricate bosses and fun upgrades make this game my third favorite game in the Metroid series.

(2) Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. A flight of steps above the other two, Corruption is an awesome game with beautiful graphics, good controls, mesmerizing music and some pretty cool characters(coughRundas,Ghorcough.) I loved the fact that the weapons stack on top of one another, gives a sort of GBA style feel to it.

(Number One!) Super Metroid. The best game in the series, with great music and addicting gameplay and some of the weirdest creatures you'll ever face. The graphics at that time were great and they still look great today, I'd love to see a remake for the GBA or the DS, with extra stuff added in. That would be great. Awesome game all around, fun weapons and neat gadgets, too!

4.Original/Zero Mission

I know they are different games but they tie. The original is the game me and other kids would fight to play after school(they wouldn't get us a 64 so NES was it). Only way to save was to die, which sucked donkey balls. Zero Mission is pasted over the original, not as challenging, which take a little from game play but it is much deeper and you can save!

3.Metroid Prime Echoes.

Too many times I didn't feel like going on because I knew the next room was gonna kill me, I died A LOT. Never got that feeling of security I expected from recovering items. Dark Samus was a nice reoccurring boss, the best evil double since Spider-man had Venom. Looking at things in the visors was fun too.

2.Metroid Prime Hunters.

A Metroid game with a decent multiplayer. I remember scratching my head at what could be a decent enough thing to fight Samus with, I got them. Weavile was the best. Who's better to play as is debatable but Weavile has the deepest back story by default, being a space pirate. Like playing affinity where they can only use their signature weapons.

Single Player did get lame after awhile, though, but Gorea! Such a creepy thing reading all the warnings of an unkillable monster and what a boss it turned out to be! Gorea shoulda been in Brawl.

1.Metroid Fusion

The best of the best. I especially like the hopeless feeling thrown on you from losing all abilities and the ship swarming with the parasites. Wait missiles, survive ability raised 10%. There is a great feeling of power when you get all your items too. Lava can't stop me, beasts that used to kill me, now obliterated by the swarms, but at the same time there are still enemies who can seriously mess you up.

The game does a lot of back tracking, but does it right. The scenery keeps changing, species spawn, experiments escape, the station almost blows up, and you get chased by the SAX. Remember she caught me completely off guard once and my heart actually raced. Nothing can hurt the SAX. Kinda frustrating fighting all these bosses when you should actually be tougher than all of them.

Don't get the transition from helpless to dominant in these 3D Prime games. Don't get lava proof suit and plasma waves or flight. Power Bombs don't clear the room. No speed boosting through walls.

7) Metroid Prime Hunters

While it may be my favourite DS game thus far, MPH was lacking in the arguable the most important aspect of any Metroid game; single player. Multiplayer was also plagued with cheaters and hindered by Nintendo’s sissy online service. But, all in all, it makes pretty good use of the DS - power, control and feature wise.

6) Metroid Prime 3

Prime 3 was a walk in the park, with quite possibly the most anti-climatic ending of all videogames ever. It was the first Prime game I completed with 100% on my first try. It seems like Retro was trying to go for a more cinematic approach, but ended up with the same, albeit watered-down Prime game (with, ironically, a story that doesn’t really make sense).

5) Metroid Fusion

This was my first Metroid game, so it automatically gets >3 points for that. However, for the supposed ending of the series, it (much like Prime 3) had a stupid ending. But, it was still a pretty cool game, overall. Felt different then the others, and wasn’t as big of an improvement as Super Metroid was, but whatever. Oh, and the SA-X chases were all pretty sweet.

4) Metroid

As you’ve probably deduced by now, I purchased each of my Metroid games in random order. Metroid was one of the last games of the series I bought, and it was pretty cool to see how it all began. The game’s novel formula was satisfying and, compared to the later games in the series, it was tough as nails. You really made good use of all of your power-ups in this one.

3) Super Metroid

Another great addition to the series. It had its share of surprises, unique puzzles and bosses. The music was gorgeous, like someone was making love to my ears. Basically, it took what Metroid had and improved upon it in every way possible.

2) Metroid Prime

Like Super Metroid before it, Metroid Prime really brought the series’ to a whole new height. But, it did so in a completely new dimension. The only problem with the game is that it can some times be a tad tedious (especially anything involving the Downed Frigate). Other than that, great game.

1) Metroid Prime 2

Prime 2 was my second Metroid game, I believe. This has to be the most atmospheric of them all, and was also the most challenging of the 3D incarnates. This was the game that really won me over to the series. Its major flaw was that it was too similar to the first Prime game, which wasn’t a problem for me, since I didn’t own it yet! Throughout this post, I’ve talked a lot about endings… And damn, does this game leave you reeling. Emperor Ing is a tough cookie, but then you’re greeted with a Metroid-esque escape sequence and a surprise Dark Samus boss battle. If the series arch just ended with Prime 2, then I’d still be pretty satisfied.

9. Metroid II Return of Samua

Never played Hunters or Pinball.

8) Metroid Zero Mission- by far the most ACCESSIBLE of the series, but to get there it ruins what makes a lot of the series great...it feels too "guided" and all of the new bosses are bugs (except for a rehashed Ridley without his trademark speed, flight and tail-whipping). It's still a decent effort, and the fact I think it's the worst isn't saying the game is bad, but just how solid the series as a whole is. A great "first Metroid game" for newcomers.

7) Metroid Prime 3

I wanted it to be glorious, and in many ways it is. I love how it gives us a taste of a more hectic, intense game at the start (I basically love all the action on the first planet), before settling back into traditional Metroid fare. The ending (both final area and scene) was utterly pathetic though, and beam weapons had no variety. Plus, they were STRONGLY implying something about the Aurora Units (especially in the preview channel) that ultimately went nowhere.

6) Metroid

I love this game for what it is. It's the only truly open-ended game in the series (as in, no hints at all), the music is fantastic and the primitive MIDI actually adds to the atmosphere (Brinstar Depths for the win!). A very satisfying playthrough, that tends to be ignored or dismissed by newer gamers, though it is pretty clunky with controls and some of those vertical shafts are stupidly tall.

5) Metroid Prime 2

The poor middle child of the Prime series. Echoes took a while to grow on me, but I adore it now. It's actually quite difficult just to complete, the ammo system was a nice touch to put some limitations on lock-on beams, the bosses were some of the most satisfying 3-D fights..ever. The environments had much more subtle beauty than Prime 1. The only real grievance is backtracking through the dull-as-heck Dark World.

4)Metroid 2

Probably the least loved of the Metroid titles, 2 retained the original's unforgiving 8-bit difficulty that's so lacking today, while actually giving gamers SOME sense of direction (via the sinking acid). It was the only game to really focus on...Metroids, and I love the various forms. Plus it added very unique power-ups, like the Spider Ball and Space Jump. Controls are a bit clunky and music is totally un-memorable, but otherwise very enjoyable.

3) Metroid Prime

What an amazing revival! Brilliant music, creepy scenarios, it's got it all.

2) Metroid Fusion

A bit too linear, but incorporated a solid story and great controls.

1) Super Metroid

My review that's still on the front page explains why I love it, Masterhandz, I really don't feel like rehashing it all again. If you disagree, that's your call.

#1: Super Metroid. Beat it like 50 times and still doesn't get old.

#2: Metroid Prime. Felt a lot like Super Metroid when I first played it. Almost Epic.

#3: Metroid Fusion. Same as Prime 1.
