there are actually many people on GT that have what it takes, its just that mod hiring is down at the moment.

I have also found lots of swearing on that forum. Sorry but I have allready started to tell the people to stop the rule breaking and it has seemed to be working so.... I would really like this position. Also how long does it take to get contacted on your e-mail to be accepted for a moderator? Thanks for listening

anywhere from 5 days (don't count on it though) to never... but seeing as how hiring is down, nobody's going to become a mod for awhile.

Wouldn't everyone who applied to be a moderator think they have the qualities?

Some people can give self-evaluations well enough to know if they can or cannot do a good job. 'Sides, not everyone wants to apply, because they don't want to, the rush to be modtacular is boring, moderating is still on hold, etcetera.
