Scanner Darkly paints a dark picture of the life of drug abusers. It doesn't at any time bring Sex and drugs and a good time and friendship together. Anyone stating scanner darkly as a stoner movie is gonna give pot heads a major buzz kill. |

And yeah, A Scanner Darkly is a stoner movie in the same way that Requiem For A Dream is a stoner movie. Which is to say that it is the opposite of a stoner movie. |

If, by "stoner flicks," you mean movies that are great to watch while you're high or tripping, then Yellow Submarine and Pink Floyd the Wall are EXCELLENT. |

Watch a bunch of MST3K. For real. Really, a 'stoner movie' could be something that's goofy-funny, stupid-funny, or stoner-funny OR it can be just eye candy like Beowulf or the Matrix or Finl Fantasy VII: Advent Children. I know "someone" who watched Apocalypse Now for the first time stoned and "he" was very moved by it... ...so really, it's whatever you make of it. "That guy" I was talking about also loves playing video games while stoned, reading, hiking, lovemaking, and so on. |
