The following things can get your posts deleted. Repeated and/or extreme offenses will result in a banning.
1. Genuine bigotry or discrimination of any sort. This includes gay bashing. It's pretty sad that I even have to clarify that.
2. Advertising another site. It's cool to post a link to a movie-related article or trailer, but beyond that it'll be deleted. Use common sense.
3. Flooding. Guys, it's not worth it. You may feel cool about taking over the front page with "(no subject given)" posts for about five minutes, but it takes me about five seconds and two mouse clicks to delete all of them and IP ban you. It's really not much of an inconvenience.
4. Being an idiot or a jerk. I'm not going to elaborate. Use common sense. If you don't I'll give you some sort of warning that you're annoying me. After that, I will ban you at will if you screw up.
I'm not the type of mod who gives out five day "now you sit in the corner and think about what you did" bans. I just throw you on the ban list and forget about it for a while. That having been said, if you're a regular poster who contributes to the forum (and you're not a troll), it takes a lot for me to actually ban you. It's a last resort, and I prefer talking it out for a while.
Trying to get around a ban by posting under a different name from a different computer saying stuff like "LOL U CANT GET RID OF ME!!!111111", will just make things so much worse. There's a certain forumer who currently has several IPs and almost every variation on the spelling of his username banned from here. I am not above doing things like that. But like I said, it very rarely comes up.
Just a couple of sidenotes, more requests than rules:
There ARE Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Dragonball forums. While they are technically movies and you can post about them here, I really wish that you'd take advantage of the forums DEDICATED TO THOSE SERIES to ask obscure questions/post polls exclusively about those series/make numerous threads that are about those series and those series alone and never anything else. It gets irritating after a while, and I don't want this forum to turn into the "Pop Fantasy" forum.
If you write a review, write more than a couple of sentences. 90% of reviews written here either say "crap movie it suxxx" or "awesome go see it lol". I know we're more intelligent people than that. A suggestion, if you don't want to write a lot, start a chat instead of a review. Say something like "What'd you think of X movie? I thought it was awesome."
Enjoy yourselves.
