trust me this game is one of the best games i ever played as you may or may have not seen the video game awards yesterday it won game of the year over halo 3 and call of duty 4 so thats obvisioly saying something..... and yes it is a really freaky game.

It's not scary like Condemned, no. I didn't get the feeling of always having something behind me. It has more of an eerie atmosphere. It lets it's story do the scaring.

its a really messed up game. barely scary, just messed up.

Apart from the atmosphere and the sounds, there's only one scary part, and it was a cheap "turn around and there's a splicer standing behind you" moment at that.

It's all Hype. The game isn't scary at all. If you find this game scary ... then you're either a kid or too soft.

I wouldn't 100% agree with what Tails Kitsune said above ... it's rather more annoying having enemies just spawn out of nowhere. But I think what he really meant was how some enemies pretend to play dead then they just get up with a "BOO!" ... although even then I thought that was too slow ...

I think what makes this game not scary is the lame graphics. It just looks too cartoonish to be scary.

If it looked a little more real like Clive Barker's Jericho (which I don't think was meant to be scary) then it may have been more frightful. Here's a screenshot I took from Jericho:

I wouldnt call this game scary...its edgy

there r some scary parts, for example your in the hospital and u see a shadow of a doctor, the lights go out and he is gone... also bodies like to jump up at u towards the end...

and like phoenix said its alittle to cartoony to take seriously
