Lets face it...Oblivion is a great game, but alot of people are getting their game crippled by bugs/glitches. Theres ways around some of them, and I'll start from the most important first: 1) Try not to save indoors after reaching the 80 hour play mark. There was many instances where people's game would crash non stop during loading interior saves, thus corrupting EVERY save...only save outside when you can to avoid this. 2) Stats Won't Increase...this may actually NOT be a glitch. If your skills get raised from skill boosting quest rewards or watching training segments, it may seem you cannot increase them again. this is not true. These skill boosts are considered 'loans'. You have to practice your skills even longer to get past that skill boost reward. For example: you have a base hand to hand of 35. You watch training and get a 4 point increase, raising it to level 39. Now if you use hand to hand fighting to increase, you are still increasing from that 35 base, not 39. So you'll have to keep using it. 3) Umbra Glitch. This is definitely a serious glitch. There are a few ways around it. 1 being not to report back to the daedra god at all. Especially if you plan on keeping it. Or you can fast travel to a different location before bringing it back, then fast travel to the god. This tends to work. Looting the corpse of umbra, dropping the sword, and then picking it back up will help sometimes as well. 4) Constant Lag/slowdown, crashes. This can be fixed by a few different ways. 1, always make new saves instead of overwriting older ones. 2, put ALL unwanted items into dead corpses (this will free memory and game space by having the items disappear along with the bodies. 3, Always rest for a couple days after looting a dungeon. This will alow your victims to vanish from the game, relieving the 360 of remembering the extra data. The game will move alot slower when there are numerous dungeons littered with dead bodies. And if anyone is experiencing other problems, please add to the thread. |

Don't rub rough-textured rocks against the disc. I have no tried it, but I have a bad feeling about it. |

I have a question, I just recently raised my illusion to a 100. and now im tryin to raise my other stats but they wont go up...any of them and i dont know why? The red bar if u know what im talkin about doesnt go up for like restoration or descruction...made spells to do them to my self so i could raise them easier and it was working for awhile but after i got my illusion up to 100 and i finishd all the deadric shrine quests and stuff they wont go up and they are NOT at 100 some of them are at 45 and stuff and they wont go up...what do i do? |

Did you ever get your restoration and destruction skills increased as quest rewards? for example, you finished a quest and someone increased your skills in those categories? If so, you keep practicing...you are still raising it from its ORIGINAL stat. It will take extra long, because your skills went up by a few points from your reward. If this doesnt work, simply seek out a trainer for these skills and buy training for 1 level each. after that you shouldnt have a problem leveling it up normally. If anyone else needs help with glitches or bugs, just ask. I will at least know if its a very common problem or if it can only be fixed by an upcoming patch |

I've run into #1 above, where any save in an interior area ends up bad. When trying to reload one of these bad saves, one of three things happens: 1. The game appears to have loaded correctly at first, but when moving, my character's arms float in air and I can't move. Attempting to wait or go into third person locks the game up hard. Can't attack or do magic, but can pull up the menus. 2. The game freezes on the loading screen. The bar goes all the way and the screen fades, but then freezes. Can still get to the dashboard though. 3. The loading screen completes, then goes to a black screen. Then a hard lockup. Anybody know of a workaround? It's a real pain to only be able to save outside, especially with some of the longer dungeon crawls. For me this started around the 60 hour mark. I wonder if it was around the time I bought my first house? Hmm... |

AHHH!!! I just found that 3d glitch you were talking about! MAN! That sucks! The game just locks up! O well, I guess I’ll keep the sword. you can fast travel to a different location before bringing it back, then fast travel to the god. This tends to work. Looting the corpse of umbra, dropping the sword, and then picking it back up will help sometimes as well. Fast traveling doesn’t work! LOL I just tried that and I can’t drop the sword… They need to fix these bugs… Is there a patch coming out for the 360? |
