The Legend of Zelda: The Forbidden Piece
|
Here is my story so far- Chapters 1-5! These events occur after Ocarina of Time and before Majora's Mask. During this time, Link encounters an evil more foul than Ganondorf! Here it is! Even though just one person is viewing it (Green Fox), I don't mind. I hope you and others will comment on it. The Legend of Zelda: The Forbidden Piece Saga 1: The Ice Battles Part 1: A Dark Reprisal Link and Zelda thought Ganondorf was sealed away with the end of their battle, but something happened they never could see happened. When they returned to Hyrule as children again, they agreed to never speak of this event again. Link returned to the Koriki Forest and Zelda came back to Hyrule Castle. Soon a nightmare came for both of them. Link saw a figure in front of Triforce- it was Ganondorf. He also saw another figure. It was hidden in the dark. It spoke out. "No! I shall not let a man of such evil get the Triforce! You! You of such evil magnitude, draw your weapon! You do not have any right to the golden treasure of the Sacred Realm. I shall make sure you are banished to a world of nevermore!" Ganondorf spoke back. "Are you sure I shall not banish you to such fate? I have done what no mere mortal could. I passed through the barrier of the Temple of Time, through the barrier of the Master Sword, and entered this land. I am only one step away from my final prize. Do you think that you can even dare to think of stopping me? Your foolishness amuses me." "What? Such comments are enough to challenge the wrath of the Six Ancient Sages!" "Hah! You mean weak beings like the Deku Tree? I killed him in a matter of moments! As for your remaining bretheren, they no longer exist! So do you wish to take me on alone? Very well!" Ganondorf shot a blast of magic at the figure and it crumpled to the ground. "You must accept me as the true holder of the Triforce; the Supreme God! If you refuse me and stand in my way, you shall perish!" Ganondorf took out a sword and jabbed the figure endlessly. "You madman! A blackguard such as you shall never hold the Triforce! I will NOT LET YOU--" "GAAAAAAAHHH!" With one last strike, Ganondorf silenced the figure. "You sages are all alike; the higher your rank, the more sure of yourself you become. You think your power is supreme, but it never was! Mine, however, IS!!!" Ganondorf stepped up to the Triforce and touched it. "HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAA! At last! The unlimited power of the Triforce is mine! I have gone beyond the strength of godhood!" Suddenly, the Triforce turned red. It started rumbling. "What? What is this? What is happening?!" The Triforce suddenly exploded in light and cast away its three parts, each red, green, and blue; Power, Wisdom, and Courage. "NO! The Triforce is separating! My glorious power, it's fading! Wait! It's returning!" The Triforce of Power had rammed into Ganondorf and filled him with power, while the Triforces of Wisdom and Courage went to Zelda and Link. The mark of the Triforces glowed on their hands. The light of the Triforce faded. Ganondorf saw the unfortunate circumstance had left him with an incomplete Triforce. "Incomplete power, not absolute, but it is still strong indeed. The Triforce rejected me. Curse it for splitting up! I shall seek out the other pieces of the Triforce and obtain them. But first, it is time to curse this realm for what it denied me!" With one sweep of his hand, Ganondorf turned the Sacred Realm impure. His eyes suddenly changed. They turned red with power. "It seems my power has changed me. I am no longer Ganondorf, the Gerudo King of Thieves. I now choose to be Ganon, the Great King of Evil!" And with that, both Link a Zelda woke up. They knew that Ganondorf was telling them a message: he was trying to break his seal. If they were going to keep him form breaking free, they needed to eliminate Ganondorf's influence on the Sacred Realm, or as he called it, the Evil Realm.

Part 2: Finding the Ancient Sages Link was shocked about this new nightmare. Link had gone through a lot lately. The treasures he had recieved through his quest were a secret. He knew that showing them to the Koriki would break his promise with Zelda, so he hid them well and took them out only for his travels. He also took great care to hide the fact he held the Triforce of Courage. Link no longer had Navi at his side. When he returned to the past, she told Link Rauru needed her in the Sacred Realm and would return when she could and flew off into the Golden Land. Link thought of Zelda and remebered something: She was the leader of the Six Sages in secrecy. Maybe she could percept what was going on. Link left for Hyrule Castle as fast as he could. However, he thought of Epona on the way there and made a detour to Lon Lon Ranch. Malon was standing there with Epona as usual. Epona was still her shy self, but Link played her song on the Ocarina of Time and she came running. That's when Link popped the question. "Can I have Epona, Malon? She seems very fond of me." Malon told Link, "I'll see if Epona wants you to be her owner. Epona, does this fairy boy seem like a good friend to you?" Epona came up to Link and nudged him. Link petted her white mane and she neighed in pleasure. "Well, fairy boy, I guess Epona likes you a lot! You can have her. Just promise me something: take good care of her. My mother would want it that way." Link told Malon, "Epona will be very happy with me. I will make sure she stays healthy." Link then rode off on Epona to Hyrule Castle. He no longer had to worry about being caught by the guards, because Zelda told her father, the King of Hyrule, about Link. Link could freely come and go as he wished. This time, however, was not a mere visit. "Zelda? Zelda? Are you there? Zelda? I need to speak to you!" "She's not here, Link." Link turned around. It was Impa, Zelda's Sheikah bodygaurd. This was a past counterpart of Impa seven years ago. Impa became the Shadow Sage and helped put Ganondorf under seal in the future. As usual, Link's Shadow Medallion glowed brightly near Impa. It was a token of her powers given to Link, so it was only natural that happened. Link asked Impa an important question. "Impa, did something happen to Zelda?" What Impa said next gave Link a chill. "Yes, Link. She's very sick now. She's in bed. You shouldn't disturb her. However, she did leave this letter for you." Impa handed link a red envelope with the Royal Family insignia on it. Link opened it and read it. Dear Link, I am not feeling very well right now, so I hope this letter answers your questions. My sickness is brought on by the evil in the Sacred Realm. I fear Ganondorf is responsible. I believe I may die at this rate. Yes, I can sense Ganondorf trying to break his seal. The Six Sages are powerful, but there is a downside. The powers of their abilities have been weakened by the tainted Sacred Realm. You need to find their predecessors, the Ancient Six Sages. One you once knew is the Great Deku Tree. His reincarnation exists in the future that you once met before. Another is Rauru. He still remains alive after all this time. There are three more sages that exist in the lands of Sky, Metal, and Ice. As for the last sage, he is gravely weakened. he took on Ganondorf and was nearly killed by his evil powers. I don't know where he is, but there are rumors that Kaporea Gaborea is his decendant. Link, there is one last thing I need to tell you. I learned of another way into the Sacred Realm! If you can awaken your Sage Medallions and infuse their powers into the Master Sword, you will be able to open the Sacred Gates of the Temple of Time. The legend goes like this: When a hero of six powers, with the aid of a seventh, and untold others, finds the sword of the Golden Land, he shall open the Golden Window and find the land of the sword's origin. Link, I think the legend means the golden window above the Master Sword and Pedestal of Time! I'm counting on you! Save the Sacred Realm! Strangely enough, the letter cut off there. Link stood in shock of this letter. Did it mean that what he was searching for was right in front of him this whole time? Link said one think to Impa and then left Hyrule Castle. "Tell Zelda that I must go through time to save her and restore peace again." |

Part 3: The Ice Temple Link rushed off to the Temple of Time as fast as he could. He was wondering something along the way: why did Zelda's letter cut off? There was a large amount of blank space at the bottom of the letter. Not only that, Zelda's signature didn't show up. He was beginning to wonder if it was a fake, but something odd happened. Link's Triforce of Courage syncronized with the letter. Suddenly, words began appearing at the letter's bottom. Link read them immediately. Link, I have one last message for you. I kept it hidden so you would read it in privacy. I didn't want the letter to be read by another evil being by accident. Here is my message to you. Go find the Ice Cavern; I'm sure youv'e been there before. There is more to it than you may think. The Ice Cavern is actually an Ice Temple! The secret to finding the temple lies within the blades of ice spinning inside the cavern. I can't tell you much more, but I know it requires pulling the blades and melting the ice. Link, I trust you to find the Ancient Sage of Water there! Your Friend, Princess Zelda This encouraged Link to go to the Temple of Time even faster. He ran through Hyrule Market and to the temple in record time. As for Epona, Link left her in the field. Inside, the stone Door of Time stood once more, for Link had removed the three Spirirtual Stones upon Zelda's request. However Link undid it all at once by playing the Song of Time once more on his Ocarina of Time. The door opened and revealed the Master Sword Chamber. There stood the Master Sword, placed back in its pedestal. Link walked up to it and looked up. There stood the Golden Window. Link thought about it and said, "This time, I will not be held back." Then, he pulled the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time and a blue light encircled him. He felt himself falling asleep whenever he pulled it. When the feeling vanished, he was an adult again. This time was no different. Link stood up as a fully matured adult, holding the sword and his trusty Hylian Shield. He left the Temple of Time, expecting the horrors of the Market still very well brewing. But there were gone. All gone. All of the Redead had vanished. Instead, Hyrule Market was full of people! Not only that, Mutoh and his carpenters were rebuilding the Market. He checked where Ganon's Castle was. Hyrule Castle, half rebuilt, stood in its place. The sky was clear and peaceful. This gave Link a fantastic thought: He really had returned peace here after all! But Zelda was nowhere to be found. He then decided to play his Serenade of Water to save him a journey to Zora's Domain. But something strange happened when he play it- the Ocarina of Time suddenly shot out black sparks and struck him! After he recovered Link noticed something else- The mystical golden light around his ocarina was black and tainted! Link thought of something: "Oh, no. Does that mean the Temple of Time is tainted too, and that I never noticed it?" Link ran back into the Temple of Time and looked inside. Everything was alright- at first glance. Then Link saw something odd: the Golden Window's light had faded. He tried to look at it closer with his Lens of Truth, which somehow seemed to work this time. Before he defeated Ganondorf, Link was incapable of using hardly any items of his in the Temple of Time. Strangely enough, now he could. Link took one look at the Golden Window with the Lens of Truth and saw a red aura coming from behind it. The window he saw was a fake. "I'm being fooled by this barrier, but it can't distract me from the truth. Light Arrow!" Link pulled out his Fairy Bow and equipped his trusty Light Arrow onto it, the very weapon that smited Ganondorf's evil powers, and then shot it straight at the window. The window suddenly smashed, revealing the actual Golden Window. However, Link was stunned. It's light coming out of it was not gold: it was red! Not only that, Link saw that his Light Arrow didn't purify the light. He used up his magic power trying to purify the window and had to take a Green Potion to replenish it. Link knew he couldn't waste time here anymore. He decided to go to Zora's Domain the long way and found it unfrozen. He was happy to see all the Zora freed from the ice, a sign of more peace. He went into King Zora's chamber and past his throne out the back to Zora's Fountain. Link saw the Ice Cavern, his next destination. He had two bottles of Blue Fire with him to get through any Red Ice in the Cavern. He couldn't even reach it though, because all the ice had melted, and Lord Jabu Jabu had returned to Zora's Fountain. However, Link took out his Ice Arrow and made a path of frozen ice platforms to the cavern. He crossed them and entered the Ice Cavern. Link had been in this dungeon before. He got the heavy Iron Boots upon slaying a White Wolfos. Link knew he would find no Gold Skulltula anywhere in the cavern since he had eradicated all 100 and freed a rich Kakariko family from a curse. Instead, he headed straight for the room with the spinning ice scythe because Zelda mentioned in her letter "pulling blades." He put on his Lens of Truth, and saw something. It was an ice platform above with a Hookshot target on it. He latched onto it and flew up there to the platform. Link then thought of something: Navi pointed out the scythe's center for some reason. Link aimed the Longshot at it, latched onto it, pulled, and something happened. The massive ice scythe raised up into the air and revealed an entrance below it- the entrance to the Ice Temple! He hopped down there and saw it was blocked by bars of Red Ice. He took a bottle of Blue Fire out and melted the ice, and then descended down the ice stairs below in the entrance. As he ran down the stairs, Link knew he was starting a new adventure and would soon meet new enemies. Fierce new enemies. |

Part 4: Frostclaw, the Ice Hook, and Archail, Herald of Ice After going down many long, winding stairs, Link reached the basement and found the Ice Temple. He saw that the first room of this temple was full of red and blue crystal ice. The next thing Link noticed was the door. It looked just like a normal door, but the window on it looked like crystal ice itself. Link entered the next room and saw a vast dome-like room with three doors, one locked. Suddenly, six Freezards emerged and attacked. Link was on his own this time and didn't have Navi with him to target the enemies. Link found himself overwhelmed by the Freezards. He reached for a spell and got it, but got frozen, as well. "C-c-cold-d-d-d! D-d-d-dd- DIN'S FIRE!" The spell erupted a fireball and thawed out Link. The six Freezards melted and a small chest appeared. Link opened it got a Small Key from it. He decided to go to the left-hand door and entered the room. "EEAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! S-S-O-O C-C-O-O-L-L-D-D!!!" Link ran out of the room quickly because it was so cold! He couldn't handle it! He saw a sign in the dome room as he re-entered it. It read: "The cold is a clever devil. You must don special clothing that keeps it at bay." Link thought about this. "Clothing? A tunic? Maybe a special tunic is in this temple that can protect me from the cold." Link looked at the sign again and read more of it. "The clothing you need is in the room of Blue Ice. If you can get it, the cold will no longer be your enemy." "Blue Ice? Is that like Red Ice? Do I need Blue Fire for it?" Link entered the right-hand room and got a nasty suprise. "Great. Ice Keese everywhere." There were at least 20 Ice Keese in this room. Then came the culprit. A large bat encased in ice swooped down and tried to mangle Link. It was a Blizzard Bat, the super version of an Ice Keese. "It's covered in ice, so it should succumb to fire. Fire Arrow!" Link took out his Fairy Bow and an arrow with a red flame on its tip attached itself to the bow, ready to fire. Link shot it and hit the Blizzard Bat and it shot out a fireball, which killed it. All of the Ice Keese died with the Blizzard Bat and burned up. "Phew. For a second, I thought I was going to be a bat's feast. Huh?" A big chest had appeared in the room. Link opened it and found the Dungeon Map of the Ice Temple. "Already? I thought the Dungeon Map was further into the temple. I guess not." Link went back into the dome room and entered the locked door. Inside, it was cold and wet. "B-rr-rrr-r-rr! N-nn-n-oo-oo-ttt aa-aa-ag-g-gg--gai-iiinn! W-ww-w-w-ww-a-a-i-i-ttt-t-t! T-tt-t-tt-h-h-ii-ss room is f--ff-i-led with B--blue I-ce! The t-t-t-unic is he-here!" Link looked around and saw an altar of what look like Blue Fire on top of a pillar with steps of ice carved around it. There were also icicles around the altar and above it. Link climbed the steps and slashed all the icicles around the altar to pieces. But the Blue Fire wasn't there. Instead, it was a red flame. "This flame is hot! I feel warm again. Is this Red Fire the same as the Blue Fire. Oh, I get it! Blue Fire melts Red Ice, and Red Fire melts Blue Ice! I'll bottle up some!" Link filled his remaining bottles with Red Fire and plopped the flames in front of the Blue Ice. As he suspected, the Blue Ice melted and revealed a door. Link entered the newly found room and saw a chest inside. He opened it, and found a purple tunic! He slipped it on immediately. "Wow! This tunic makes me feel like it's not even cold at all! Hey, what's this? A letter?" Link picked up a piece of dark purple parchment and opened it. It read: Hello there! If you found this chest and the tunic and letter, good job my friend. This purple tunic is a Gerudo Tunic. It is my gift to you. The fibers are made from the skin of Purple Leevers. The cold desert does not faze them at all. I hope you like my present. Sincerely, Talia- Third-in-command of the Rogery Pirates. P.S. This temple is not so dangerous, once you get the hang of it. P.S.S. Don't ask why I'm helping you; I don't know why myself. P.S.S.S. My superior Capitan Rogery put these signs up. "Weird. A Gerudo put this tunic here? Huh. I wonder where she is right now." Link filled up his bottles with more fire on the trip back and melted more Blue Ice. He found a locked door. He refilled his bottles one last time with Red Ice and went back to the dome room. This time he went back through the left-hand door and got a better glimpse at the cold room. It was full of cold, icy water. Not only that, it was full of Octorocks. Link hopped across the ice platforms carefully and got rid of the Octorocks. The door to the next room had been barred off, but now it opened. Link entered the room and got locked in. There were five Silver Rupees scattered in the room centered around a set of two moving ice platforms above them and two below them. They all had Hookshot targets on them. There was also a crystal switch on a pedestal in the room. Link shot the crystal switch with his Longshot and they ice platforms halted. Link jumped up onto them using the Hookshot and collected two Silver Rupees. He stopped the platforms again and hopped onto the pedestal to claim another Silver Rupee, hit the crystal switch again, pulled himself up to the second set of ice platforms and got the last two, which opened the door. In here were four Beamos. Liknk bombed them and a big chest appeared when they exploded. Link found the Compass to the Ice Temple inside and entered yet another room ahead. Inside, he found two Like-Likes, the equipment hungry beasts. "Not this time. What I find is not your food!" Link unsheathed the Master Sword and killed both Like-Likes with a few Spin Attacks. A chest appeared, and Link got a Small Key from it. Then, he raced back to the locked door he found. He entered this locked room, and it locked him in. Then, Link heard a voice. "Who has appeared before me, the great Frostclaw?! Come to claim the Ice Claw, I suppose?!" A huge swirling mass of snow and ice appeared and formed into a huge beast. The beast was covered in armor and had a sword and shield with him. He also had two boomerangs with him. "No one passes beyond here! The Ice Herald Archail has ordered it! All will fall before me!!!" Now Link was up against his first real threat since Ganondorf. |

Here is the new part! This is part 5: A Behemoth's Fury Frostclaw was a being of ice, similar to a yeti, and his eyes were blazing gold, not expected from someone coming from an ice domain. Link somehow heard a rumor about this mammoth-sized beast- The mighty warrior Frostclaw. He heard that Frostclaw's ice could freeze your very soul if it overcame you. "I must say, I have heard legends about someone like you around, Frostclaw. Hyrule Market is a place that all rumors are heard." "Really? Then you may be an admirable opponent. My powers are strong, my friend. If you can withstand them, I shall give you the Ice Claw!" With that last sentence, Frostclaw swung his sword- and ice crystals shot out. Link blocked every one with his shield, but something unexpected happened. The Hylian Shield froze and gave way with a CRRAAAAACK!! "My Shield! What did you do?" Link asked. "What did I do? I showed you my power! Your shield just couldn't hold up!" spoke Frostclaw. Link ran after Frostclaw with his Master Sword and tried to cut him up, but he used his shield to counter every blow from the sword. "Feel my soul-binding chill! Ice Reaper!" Frostclaw's sword, the Ice Reaper, shot out fumes of ice, which bounded for Link. Link dodged the first few, but got pounded by the next wave. He felt something else happen, as if he was stiffening up. He looked down, and found himself half-covered in ice. "Fire Arrow!" Link's Fire arrow didn't work. "Din's Fire!" Nor did Din's Fire. Frostclaw let out a loud laugh and boomed, "You think magic will stop my ice? Don't amuse me with petty tools!" Link took a look at Frostclaw and thought, "There has to be something he has that makes this ice form. If I can find it, I can disrupt it! There!" Frostclaw's armor had a pulsating crystal on it. Link took aim at it with a Fire arrow. "GAAAAH! No! How could you do this! You've broken my Frost Crystal!" Frostclaw nearly exploded. "HOW DARE I BE DISHONORED LIKE THIS!!! I CAN'T ACCEPT IT!!!!" His eyes turned red, and he grabbed his boomerangs and threw them repeatedly at Link. Link dodged them over and over, and then slashed Frostclaw over and over, but couldn't leave even a nick in his armor. Link saw that the boomerangs glowed with fire on them, Red Fire. He also saw Frostclaw was covering himself in Blue Ice. Link pondered this odd pairing of Red Fire weapons and Blue Ice armor. Maybe Frostclaw didn't know his mistake! Of course, Link needed a shield to send the boomerangs back at Frostclaw, so he took out his shiny Mirror Shield. "ANOTHER SHIELD! WAIT! THIS ONE'S DIFFERENT! NO! THE LEGENDARY MIRROR SHIELD! THE BANE OF FIRE AND ICE!" rumbled Frostclaw. Link sent the boomerangs back at blinding speeds, aiming at Frostclaw's Armor Blue Ice armor until it had all melted away. "No. Your armor melts if your boomerangs hit it! You're at the end of your rope!" said Link. "NO! I MUST MAKE MORE!!!!" But it was too late. Frostclaw threw his boomerang so hard at Link it's flame grew intensely hot. Link sent it flying back and it hit Frostclaw like a bullet! "EEEEEYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" Frostclaw fell to the ground and dropped his weapons. His eyes turned back to gold. "Extrodinary power! I haven't fought like that since the evil beast Donmahl tried to fight me! Here is the Ice Claw as promised, my friend. Just so you know, this victory makes you a true champion of my people! Not only that, I also am one of the Six Ancient Sages!" "Really? So are you going to help me save the Sacred Realm, Frostclaw?" asked Link. "Of course. To tell the truth, this was all a ploy! I pretended to be a mercenary of Archail to gain his trust, and get him hand over his treasure to me, the Ice Claw! Of course, The boomerangs he gave me are useless! That means that was quite a treasure I was guarding! I'll bet right now, he's furious! At the moment, I must help the Six Sages and their leader, Zelda! For now, farewell!" "Oh, and by the way, go to the Metal Fortress in the distant reaches of Hyrule to fix that shield. Sorry about that!" Frostclaw and his weapons turned back into a ball of snow and ice. Then, he disappeared in a flash of aqua light. Link saw a big chest appear. Inside was the Ice Claw! The weapon was strange-looking: it was shaped like a hand. Link put it on and headed further into the temple. Then, he heard a loud roar that rivaled Frostclaw's. "DECEIVER!!!! MARK MY WORDS- YOU WILL DIE!!!!!" Coming Soon: Part 6- Clutch Archail's Ice |

i would SOO buy that game. i loved Ocarina of time/majoras mask. thanks for the story, and i was curious, what do you intend on doing with this story? you should bring the idea to nintendo and hopefully they will do a Zelda tribute for the wii or something and put this story in there as the 'lost time' or something of the nature(like how they released 'lossed worlds' for the SNES mario pack all-stars) who knows they might publish it somehow... |
