Yea the DS is hours of fun, but only if you get the right games. Go for these:

LoZ:PH, Super Mario 64 DS, Animal Crossing WW, Megaman Ds, and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

I would by a new one because the old ones break more often and the new ones are not as dirty or scratched.

Get the new one, it's much better than the old one, brighter slimmer. Alot of the Nintendo games are good, but from your description there are tons of other good games, if you like shooters I recommend Brothers In Arms or Call of Duty 4(obviously for the DS it's not the console one but it's still good fo DS). There are alot of multiplayer racers now, you can go online wi-fi very easily with the DS. For a racer I recommend Mario Kart DS. Theres a huge variety of games so it's not just crappy Hamsterz, Horsez, Dogz and that other kind of crap games.

yes, go for the lite. my friends have the lites while i have to carry around the old original...and all the game cases made now are for the lite

and on nintendo's website there's a thing called a gameguide you answer a bunch of questions on the side and they give you options of games you might like, might want to try that.

Yep, go for the DS lite. It shows the screen a lot brighter and you can see what you're doing on the game.

And I agree with hawkfrost, check the Nintendo Website and check the gameguide. And games you like, you can check the info on it.

depends on what you prefer really, i have had the original since launch and never had a problem with it... just ask yourself: is a brighter screen worth paying an extra $50?

i have tetris DS and i got bored really really fast, don't play it anymore..so just a heads up, if you don't really like repeating puzzles, then don't get it...

best thing to say about Tetris DS is... It's tetris! if you like tetris, i recommend it, if you dont then don't get it

i usually like playing tetris, so that's why i paid money for that game that i haven't picked up in a long time...i wonder where it is...
