I have an EZ Flash 3-in-1. Best slot-2 card I've ever tried... in fact it's the only one I've ever tried. I'm also using an R4, but you need a program to transfer the GBA game into the 3-in-1's NOR flash. This is perfect because it emulates a real GBA cartridge. It can't ahndle any game larger than 32MB, but there aren't very many ones that are that big. None that would warrant playing anyway. Use this GBA ExpLoader by Rudolph: gbatemp.net/index.php?download=2077 At the time of this posting the latest version is 0.53. |

Damn, you guys are just too cool. I've never tried a slot 2 thing for GBA. I had an old M3 Lite that was a slot 2 solution for DSLite, but then I got the DS Simply, and I haven't needed anything since... |

Well, don't feel down. You're not missing out on much. There aren't many DS games that support rumble, look at all of them: http://tinyurl.com/44ysed I look at that list and only see a few ones that I like. Like maybe Metroid and Hotel Dusk out of the ones I've tried. Speaking of which, I still have to beat those games. I eventually will, it's just on my long list of queued games to play. If I forget about them for too long they qualifiy as not being so good because they couldn't hold my short attention span. Maybe it's just not my thing, but whatever. |

Err yeah, it's actually really easy. Just run the GBA ExpLoader and cycle through the menu with L and R until you get to the one that lets you load it into NOR flash of the 3-in-1 cartridge (it should be the second last to the right if memory serves me correctly). Press A or whatever the button is to load it. It takes a couple of minutes to erase then write, but after that it's practically a carbon copy of a real GBA cartridge. It'll also probably prompt you to create a .sav and a bunch of junk, but that can usually be accomplished by pressing A through the menus. You just -might- have to restart your DS if it doesn't load after exiting the program. Anyway, yeah, I can't remember the exact button presses off the top of my head, but there is a button legend that tells you that. After you're done just load your slot-2. It can be loaded without the R4 afterwards. You just use the GBA ExpLoader to load games into it (one at a time). |

okay, thanks, with that said, loading one at a time, that means i would have to load pokemon ruby, play it and if i want tony hawks underground i would have to reset my ds load up tony hawk and go from there. All in all, its not like the lameboy ds, that allows me to play my pokemon red. |

Yeah, you got it. But this way, you're guaranteed perfect compatibility for about 99.9% of the GBA games out there. On top of that, you have rumble and extra RAM for the Opera Browser (it's not very good though, imo). |

I'm slightly confused. Didn't I just explain it a couple of replies above? Anyway, I'll go into a little more detail this time. Just create the following folders in the root of your memory card: GBA_SAVE and GBA_SIGN. You're never going to touch them unless you're transferring saves so you can right click on them and click Properties and make them hidden (not necessary, but I like it this way). GBA_SAVE will hold your .sav files and GBA_SIGN will hold all the .sgn files that GBA ExpLoader creates. You can either put the GBA_ExpLoader.nds and GBA_ExpLoader.ini inside of a folder called GBA or in the root of your memory stick along with wherever else you put your games. I just put them all in one folder. You can put your GBA games pretty much anywhere (I also like to put those in the GBA folder). Now when you're done, just turn on your DS and open GBA ExpLoader then navigate the menus like I said, load up the GBA game into the 3-in-1 and you're set to boot from slot-2. |
