These ...'suggestions', let's say, don't come from our pithy school districts or the local PTA. Politicians (starting with those 525) have been filling even elementary school children's curricula with incredibly skewed, political agendas for decades. Whatever the instance, racism is a curiously unbounded word. One person's 'racism' is another's common-sense preference. For instance, wanting to marry a person whose skin color most resembles your own isn't the least racist, unless your primary interest is division. |

Taking out the details such as slavery and racial matters? Hahaha, Well I just finished an A-level course on Nazi Germany! And my school's history teachers all did their thesis papers on it so I dont think my school will be scrapping that from the curriculum for a LONG time. |

Well I know the Board of Education around here was thinking about it at one point...I don't know if it's still being discussed, but I do believe these parts of the curriculum are important. |

Removing them is completely racist, in my opinion. |

I believe that it shouldn't be removed because I think it's important to educate people about the past...no matter how cruel or racist it is. |

I think they should stop showing slavery in such a negative light. If teachers had a more positive attitude about slavery, then the kids wouldn't think it was such a bad idea. This may eventually lead to the re-enslavement of the blacks. Isn't that what we've all been working for all these years, after all? |
