Ok, this has been posted before by RideTheLightning, but so few reactions... Its really important cuz it might soon get popular and I want you people to get the Anihiluses before the others ;D Well, in short, its a way to join the right game, where DC will spawn. RideTheLightning explains it well in his tip: http://www.gametalk.com/talk/pc/diablo_ii_expansion_lord_of destruction/64971721.htm There are a few things that I want to add: first, you better have a fast connection, because on a 56k, it takes 30 sec to join a game so if you wanna find the right channel among 200, might take more than an hour. Second, you CAN go in a game, idle there and wait some hours for DC to spawn. But if you use the cloister or Larzuk trick, the idle dont always work, you can get booted out of the game. I dont suggest an idlebot because these things cant be 100% trustful =) And also, if too much people go idle, especialy if people put passwords in their games, there will be less sellers. I think that the system works like this: if too much games are on a specific channel, Bnet will not let new games be created on that same channel. You see, it will dispatch ppl on other channels. So less SOJ sellers, less chances of getting DC... Ok, now we finally have the proof that SOJ selling DOES matter in the DC thing. So my perspectives are: slowly, the soj value will go up and Anihilus will go down. Soj will became rarer, and no one will sell them anymore. SO GO GET DC PEOPLE, IT MIGHT ALL END IN A FEW WEEKS!!! www.d2forum.com: THE site for IP hnting, it explains the basics and you get the hot channels there. Thanks, RideTheLightning =) |

Yeah, im sure u cleared up alot of things for some people who didnt understand it. So yeah.... finally the myth is put to rest about sojs not having anything to do with dc clone spawning. Get those sojs while you can, they should be worth their original value in the weeks (or months) to come. Don't be greedy now, just have some saved up for when they are up in value, after all if you want the DC clone then you are going to have to contribute. |

Your saying people sell even a total of 2500 sojs per hour? I know i would never sell an soj to a merchant. And if i sold 1 i would expect to face the clone. Has anyone tried selling a few sojs to a merc in the game? I dont understand this concept, like channel .38 etc. Can someone else plz explain this to me. 200 people cannot fit in a channel, or maybe your talkin about a different type of channel(like a stream etc.) Please someone clarify this. |

I've seen people in the channels taking about selling and buying back SoJ's in order to get the counter up. I don't know if this really works or not, but it has been mentioned. I'd imagine you could go through a ton of gold that way, but so be it. Just a thought. ;o) |

when the patch first came out i had tons of sojs left over on non ladder and sold some. He came eventually every game. First game i sold like 4 or 5 sojs second time like 20 something and the third time like 10 or so. whenever i sold a soj the counter went up 1. think it resets when dc comes and when it starts again it starts at a random number. No way that many are getting sold still. |

OK I re-explain the whole thing... The thousands of games on D2 are shared between 256 IP adresses. So there are many games with the same IP address. Once in a while, the soj counter begins to raise on one (maybe more) IP adress, called "channel". You see, an IP address looks like 67.123.54.37:4000. Like some peopled pointed out to me (thx), the 4000 is the port number. Well, if we take the adress i gave, the channel number is the one before 4000 so its .37 or simply 37. When you open your DOS (by running cmd.exe on Win XP or entering DOS in 98), you type the following: "netstat -n" without the quotes. Enter. It will show you a lot of numbers, which means every connection that is active. You go search for the 4000 (D2 must be running): this is the battlenet port number. Right before it, you see the channel number, like .37 On d2forum.com (where you need to subscribe first), some people who see the soj counter rising in their game go see their current IP channel and post it on the forum, in IP US/Europe forums. You go see waht was the last "hot" channel and then, join and rejoin D2 games each time cheking what is your IP channel #. When you get the right one, simply sell sojs or go idle and wait for DC to spawn (lol you leechers... ) BTW, the IP channels dont have any relationship with the channels you go chat in Bnet. Well, the only thing is maybe, if you hit the join button and check the list of games, these games MIGHT be on the same IP channel, i dunno, i will check soon. |

Some more details... First you cant buy back a soj from the NPC. Lol, thats the concept, imagine people selling and rebying sojes than selling again =) Second, i think that even if it says 2358 soj sold, its a lot lesser than this. Like I Got Banned! said, the counter must start at a random value. I estimate at 100 or 200 the real number of soj sold for each DC. BTW, after dc spawns, the channel is not "hot" anymore and a new one goes hot. Now, like you know, in the first week of 1.10, he spawned hundreds of times and thats because the counter didnt take alot to reach the "saturation point". Now, its increasing every day... so Anihiluses will get rarer and rarer, soj also. So like RideTheLightning said, its a good time to stock up on them. |
