Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: not worth it.
|
Oh wow, what a game that is. I was babysitting and the kids wanted to watch me play it. Does anyone else find the controls exceptionally hard? You can't turn like the other two, but shuffle from side to side which is utterly pointless. It is a very fast, easy game, with not a lot of time to explore and quite a few treats. Also, did you notice that the shape for Rictusempra now has a new name? And that you don't get to play Quidditch? And that the Transfiguration exam in the dragon part is EVIL AND IMPOSSIBLE?!?! I played for 5 hours and got to that point and I had to quit and go home, I just couldn't do it any more. It seemed like that game went on forever. It wouldn't end. One thing I did like is how the Chocolate Frogs didn't jump. But there is a store in a bathroom, SEVEN levels to explore, and you can't even get all the cards without buying them or anything. And having to have multiple people cast a spell at one time was pretty annoying too. I remember being Harry and having to destroy those freaky skeletons but Hermionie wouldn't catch on and by the time I did, I was hit with a bone and the spell was broken. I ended up dying about five times because of it. Also, the Fire Crackers were back. That was a tiny bit annoying, I hated them in the first place. Overall, I wasn't a fan of this game. There wasn't much exploring to be had and you didn't even have to do anything to learn the spells, you just walked into class and you knew them. The spells themselves were quite nifty though. One thing I found with the Glacius challenge is that you had to do it more than once or else you wouldn't get the cards, because on the slides it branches off twice and you have to choose what way to go, however there is a card on BOTH SIDES. How stupid can you get? Anyways, I was thoroughly annoyed with this game at points, and it wasn't very entertaining all the way through. I mean, come on, that dragon was impossible to fly using a mouse and the spacebar! It wouldn't let me use any other controls, it was silly. I didn't really like this game, and I'm thoroughly glad I don't own it. What did you think of it? ((Sorry this thing is all over the place.))

I thought all of the [books] were more enjoyable than the [movies]. |

I like it but I agree there were better versions of Harry Potter on PC, in my opinion number two was the best. I actually found the controls pretty easy, but computers are my specialty so I have had to deal with some of the hardest control movements ever lol. Actually I can confirm you are wrong there you CAN turn around in that game, check how the control keys are set up. Here's some advice you can change the control keys if you don't like them. I didn't like the new rictusempra thing either, I don't see why they couldn't have kept it the same. I wish I could've played quidditch. I agree the transfiguration exam is hard and it took me a couple tries to find all the secrets, but I didn't think it was impossible. Was hard though I totally agree. I liked the exploring in this one best actually because it was so big, but I didn't like that you pretty much had to do all of it on the last day. I did not like the multiple people casting at all I totally back you up there. Here's some advice if Hermione is not facing the skeleton in time take your aim off it and back up so the bones won't hit you. Actually I'm not sure you're correct on the glacius thing if I remember right each time you came to a fork in the slide you had to go to the right to get the shields. I think you're mistaking there. Here's advice on the dragon thing, you don't HAVE to use the spacebar and the mouse to make the dragon move that is close to impossible if you're not good with the controls. Use the spacebar and the arrow keys it is way more easier. It may not have let you lose other controls for one of two reasons #1 the game was bugged or #2 the controls were set so you couldn't do that. Based on everything you've said I think it was you needed to change the controls to get it to work. So actually SheElf I've come to the conclusion part of your problem was the controls weren't set in the easiet way. That makes the game frustrating and hard. So actually before you started playing you should've reset the controls lol. Always check how the controls are set before you start playing. Perhaps mabye if the controls were set a different way the game would've been easier for you. |

Ok, thanks guys. Thing is it belongs to the people I babysit and won't work on my conputer so I'm not going to play it again for a loooooong time, lol. I did check the controls and it said to turn you had to use the mouse. I was quite upset by it. I liked the second one the best as well - I still haven't won the first one. It's all about the controls lol. I just got frustrated way too much, I couldn't see much so it got stupid. Thanks! |

Yeah someone who I was helping with the game had trouble because of you had to use the mouse to turn too. They had a much easier time after I switched the turning controls to the arrow keys. |

After buying HP2 for PC, I was an immediate fan. I have bought them all. I believe the best of them is Chamber of Secrets. I don't know why the programmers did not stick with a lot of the stuff that really works with this game. My husband is a computer programmer, and he believes that they must have had different programmers work on different games. It's a pity, actually. I really loved number 2. I found HP1 rather poor, but there was such an improvement going from 1 to 2 that I was hoping for the same from 2 to 3. No such luck. HP3 was frustrating, but I finished it. I never bothered to finish HP4. It simply wasn't intuitive for me. My daughter, however, plays it occasionally. She also seems to enjoy the HP Quiddich game. |

Well, my custom controls take some getting used to, but I simply will not accept walking with my left hand. Arrow keys move you, jump is control, and cast is Alt. You move the casting with the arrow keys. I love that set. Oh and potion drink is sp[ace. |
