Using DosBox...VCC Problem solved
|
Not a question just a little help for all who exp. the vcc error. Your going to kick yourself. All of you are. I kicked myself this morning when I figured it out. Think DosBox...Remember how you have to mount c? Yup, you got it, just mount d: first, then mount c:\. this allows dosbox to know that drive d: is there, and thus when the game loads...it can finally read the vcc files from the cd where the game expects them to be. Easy as that. Hope this helps in the long run for anyone wanting to keep this classic game alive!! I miss dos. Zed

I need some suggestions, please! I am trying to run ST: Judgment Rites on DOSBox .70, which according to all forums is supported and stable. I have loaded my CD drive first as d:\ (thanks for that tip), then the game directory as c:\. Upon startup, the Interplay logo fades in and out. After that, however, nothing happens. I have edited my config file so the CPU cycles are maxed, and have turned up the frameskip also. What else can I do to play this game? It used to be one of my favorites and I was very disappointed when I couldn't get it to work. Any pointers are appreciated! |
