1) Protoss is the easiest race to learn for most players, seeing as how their first unit, the Zealot, is much more powerful than the other 2 races' first unit, Zergling and Marine. Most people that play as protoss are newbs, but that doesn't make Protoss a newb race. I've gotten my arse handed to me too many times to never forget how strong they can be, Protoss are fast maxers (as in their supply limit reaches 200/200 easily) and most of their units are very powerful and take up 2+ psi, excluding of course the Probe and the Observer. Since their units do take up 2+ psi for the most part, that also means their units pack more punch per unit, so their main strength is taking out chunks of the enemies' units. For example, if you're in a mass attack vs a Zerg army, and you are both 200/200, most of the time the Zerg is going to win, but lets say you have some High Templars, a few Dark Archons, a couple of Corsairs and an Arbiter or 2, you could take out patches of men with Psionic Storm, stop units in their tracks with Maelstorm, prevent their units from attacking with Disruption Web, and freeze their men with Stasis Field. This in turn makes their mass less. That is the Protoss strength. |
