To help limit the number of unintended mishaps, here is a partial list of reminders to carry with you as you visit GameTalk's varied communities. Remember, you are responsible for all activity coming from your address!!
Refrain from posting material that interferes with any other visitor's valid use of GameTalk.
Post no threatening, slanderous, obscene, etc., topics.
No socially indecent user names.
No cursing in symbols or abbreviations, nor in misspellings or in any other way.
Do not infringe upon anyone's property rights (trademark, copyright, etc).
Do not use GameTalk forums to advertise your business or seek personal gain.
Do not post with intent of disturbing the privacy of another GT visitor.
Do not link to or otherwise direct GT's visitors to harmful material.
Make no postings encouraging or asking for anyone to break the law.
No Backseat Moderating. Let the Forum Moderators do the moderating. Backseat Moderating is when people who are not Moderators try to enforce the forum rules. Whenever you see a person breaking the rules, simply IGNORE the offensive post(s) or thread. The only other effective option is to act as a mediator of sorts, and if you're effective your efforts will be properly noted in the proper venue should a need arise. Whatever the case, don't let the heat of the moment overrule common sense. If you feel that immediate action is the best course, please post in the Complaints forum a brief description of what's going on and provide a direct link.
Don't post obvious troll threads or start flame wars. We all love games and we all have strong opinions. Please remember that, and respect each other.
Do not post, to the best of your knowledge, inaccuracies of descriptions or fact, including the omission of the origin of quoted material or any other communication.
Continue discussion of your problem, inquiry, or announcement in your own thread, and don't make two or more same-subject topics to get more attention.
Excessive off-topic discussion within a topic thread will be removed if it detracts from the discussion.
Fanboy comments may or may not be tolerated, usually dependent upon the poster's word choice and attitude. 5-star condemnation earns an instant ban. Bashing PCs in the name of Apple (at least on the PC Game board) is a 5-star example.
No recruiting on this board. Find the respective game board and do it there, but be mindful that moderators are free to axe any recruiting thread they see. I didn't take part in discussing this, but that's what came of it.
Myspace is the denison of the devil. Isn't it?
Abuse directed at any of the GameTalk Moderators will not be tolerated and may result in an instant ban. GameTalk Moderators give their own free time to assist the site's visitors, and have helped an untold number of people get more out of their games.
Lastly, aol grammar such as 'n e 1' or anything of the sort makes you look and sound cool. However, if you utilise that lingo here then it's unlikely that we'll take you or anything you say seriously. If you have to, get your hands on a few periodicals to see how the rest of the world communicates.

READ:
When introducing a topic:
# Start a new discussion topic/thread.
# Give your discussion topic/thread a distinctive title.
# Describe the symptoms and problems you're experiencing, if that is why you're here.
# If so, describe what you've already done to solve the problem.
# Be patient while waiting for a response.
If you think there's something important that should be considered as an addition to this document, please leave a note on the board, or if you prefer, send to chthonusa at netscape.net.
For our visiting moderators: Mike's list will suffice, but you're free to follow my own to the last vague innuendo.
ALWAYS BE KIND AND HELPFUL TO NEWBIES.
When you die to a worthy opponent, Do you: cuss out your opponent, say GG, hit the dog or just quietly move on.
