Communism is not the removal of freedom, infact true communism is much better than any other form of government that exist. It makes all people equal, in everyway. No better healthcare because you have more money, everyone gets the best that is avalible. That kind of thing. However due to the nature of humans, Communism will never exist. I think in this poll you meant Marxism, not communism. |

Don't all the people make the same money? So a fast food worker would make the same amount as a doctor? |

It's not the same amount, but it's a lot more "fair". Communism isn't a bad thing. It just doesn't work for some reason. |

In communism, Money has no meaning so in the view of a capitalist society, yes a fast food worker would make as much as a doctor. Of course in a true communist society the doctor would be a doctor because he wanted to, not because he wanted money. Communisim is a great thing, however it has never worked on earth, nor will it likely ever work. The human mind with its prejudice and feeling of self importance makes communism fail at the very roots of the ideal. Like I said(though maybe not clearly enough) earlier, there is no communism in the world today, all "communist" countries are really Marxists just mislabeled. Just like the USA is not a democracy, but rather a mix of Republic and Theocracy. |

yes but persuing your passion instead of what makes you "rich" is more of the focus in communism. |

A theocracy? Not really. Though our president is an zealous religionut, but the Government in itself is a nuetral force, neither with or against religion. Proof of this is can be found with the debate against abortion, gay marriage, Creationism vs. Evolution Theory. as long as Seperation between Church and State holds true, America is not a theocracy. Of course, you are right about not being a free country, we're a democracy. True freedom doesn't exist in any country unless you're talking about places in an anarchic state (Such as Africa), but the reason why we don't just go into an anarchy is because (look at Africa) it leads not to happiness, but fear of the strongest and most well-armed guy around, and that eventually, to survive a free-for-all world, people will instinctually group up and form tribes, eventually, theses tribes will settle and reproduce. to protect their children, these settled tribes will work together to house these children with someplace safe, and with safetey comes rules, and as this all adds to each other, societies will eventually surface again. As for communism, communism is not evil. It has failed, but not evil. Communism relies too much on human behavior, that's why Communist countries who orgiginall fought for true freedom and equality have almost always slumped down into despotic regimes. When one person alone gets power over a country and nothing can conflict and stop his power, he becomes (Usually) corrupted. These countries then usually become poor as shit becasue their exports suck, these exports suck because no one's putting any effort into doing their jobs, there is no motivation to do above par, no motivation or reason to go and get a higher education and a better job becasue it doesn't effect your salary. Why do all the hard work of trying to become a doctory when you can get the same amount doing little to nothing as a janitor? What's the incentive? Of course, there's always the die-hard true-beleiver in the regime who will do anything to please or benefit the state, even if his/her effort is infantismal. Communism doesn't work because of the human factor. As for in Theory, lame excuse. To say communism is supreme becasue it works "In Theory" is bull shit; EVERYTHING works perfectly "In Theory", Capitalism, Socialism, Democracy, Anarchy, Marxism, Military Dictatorships, Oligarchy, Aristocracy, etc., everything. To say it's perfect in such a state is a worthless observation being that what truly matters is if it works in reality. |

Just like the USA is not a democracy, but rather a mix of Republic and Theocracy. So what's this? communism is great. no weak in soicety, all strong, all the same. Im all for communism Sounds good eh? Well, the only problem IS that usually due to human factor, communist gov.s, or gov.s that claim to be communist, are never "Great". They usually keep none of the promises of prosperity and easy living they make to their people when they kill their way into power (Usually) and first take the reings of uncontrolled power, except for "Equality", and by "Equality" they mean EVERYBODY living in deep poverty. No longer is it a mixed economy, no one is 'Rich', No "Middle Class" no "Blue Collar", Now everyone is indiscriminantly in a state of poverty that they can never escape by the opression of the government. Then, even that is imperfect, you still have the government, living nicely off the money accumulated by the cheap labor of the citizens until their economy falls due to poor products that no other country in it's right mind would buy due to its poor quality. Communism doesn't work. THe only people it's "good" for are power-hungry government fat-cats and homeless guys who's way of living can only go up. |

Plus, could you name me a Foriegn Power that's communist today? If communism is so great, why don't we have so much more of them? The USSR has fallen, and though China IS the rival of the US, it's wealth comes from a huge freaking labor force that's too pussy to actually go on strike, or even make a stand over their next-to-nothing payrolls while working like slaves make cheap-ass products to export to all ignorant-ass countries. And don't even bother with the "It works in Theory" garbage. EVERYTHING works in theory. |

Communism does not work where everything goes to the mainland. The idea is to strengthen the country threw one voice. If you lived in a world with communism a doctor would be able to live the way they want to live and treath there paitence by the many. The thing is that you would have to move your house no diffrent if ther was a king, dictator, or immenent of Domain. The only problem is that people don't know how to live with it. In fact it is a great thing. You get free electricity, water, heat, and grow your own food. Then you only work when you want toys. Communism is how you would live if you was on a ship in sea or in a new colony or even in the Earlier Western era before the Europeans started to tell people how to live and where to go kicked in. Communism is okay when trade in a country is going well. The problem with us is that when you think about it we have too much money. |

The reason Communism isn't working is because the leader is corrupted with power. In the beginning, I'd say a good deal of them were actually TRYING to accomplish that feat, but ended up having too much power.. Now, I have never heard of a communistic country that has reached stability for a long period of time. I might be wrong, and if I am, please correct me. |

China- Basically where communism you get free this and and only work for toys. However in recent years China has been making a bad image of itself proclaiming there are "catching up to the world" In terms of how China is runned it was great up till 2001. If a person from another country wanted to live there like normal they could. The only person being damaged in China is China itself. Korea and Cuba is a perfect example of a clean society. Both is stable and normal. Nobody is doing anything wrong there and the streets are clean. The problem is that both these countries we are clueless to average life there. However Cuba is like any other place in the Carribean. You could swim back and forth to Cuba if you wanted to. Russia-just needs more Tourists. Mexico- is normal and part the proverty problem is the fault of US and other countries butting in. The big problem is that people keep depending on money for nonsense and foeringers telling them how to live. |

anybody9999, I don't know where you got the idea that in a communist nation you only have to work when you want toys. Its absolutely wrong. In a communist state everyone works. And you work for the state. Its all for the good of the group, and individuality is worthless. I always laugh when I see someone write about free electricity, free heat, free this and free that. Who would be working to provide you with all this? Another bad side to communism is, since everything is for the common good, your personal desires have a very low priority. If you are good at something, then thats what you will do, whether you like doing it or not. If a child shows an aptitude for science and medicine they will be schooled as a doctor. If their passion is music they are out of luck. Also, if you have two workers, one is a hard working and productive person while the other does only what it takes to get by, both receive the same reward. Why work hard or try to get better if it gets you nothing? |

OMG COMMUNISM!! well, coming from a country that used to be communist, and being a witness to everything its about, i find it offensive that americans can be so ignorant as to say stuff like that. you people dont know what its about. if you sit and think about philosophy and government systems that work, you will undoubtedly come up with an idea not unlike communism. and thats because it is a perfect idea. BUT, the manipulative idiots of the soviet union, of course, proved to the world that although the plan and manifesto are perfect WE ARE NOT. we are human. far fom perfect. it is well know we all hunger for power and nobody can be trusted with thekind of responsibility of leading a country like so. I am certain, furthermore, that if America was to adopt such a system, it would undoubtedly fall into the same pothole. that is fact. Its hard to explain exactly what it means to be under communist rule. while it was not bad (i mean, everyone had food and shelter) there was no surplus, no luxury, no "better" shelter or anything. the majority of bulgarians still live in the apartment buildings, or blocks, that are identical and vast in numbers. the thing you really had to do to survive was to know how to keep your mouth shut. to say one thing and think the other. and to never ever trust anyone completely and to give away what you truly think. in many ways this still applies today. it applies in all societies if you want to succeed. but in bulgaria and the soviet union it was not about success, it was about survival. because, unlike our capitalistic system today, you could not thrive in any aspect during commnism. you were simply at a sandstill. if u still want to know exactly what this all means, go ther, and listen to people's stories. thats really the best way. i cant put it in enough words unless i wrote books and books onthe subject (which i may one day do) so...that's all i have to say about that. |

I think communism may work in a very small community where weapons like guns aren't available, becuase once somebody abuses the system, becomes more powerful and has guns then you have a dictator, and communism goes out the window, because equality is destroyed. Stalin was hardly an equality-loving guy. |

well idk if guns or a small community matter, its a human tendency to become corrupt if you're in such a powerful position. leaders like FDR are much too rare. Stalin and all the other communist leaders manipulated the government to put their families in power and send their kids to study abroad (with the iron curtain, nobody was allowed to leave the countries allied with the soviet union, no matter what). They were just really selfish but nothing good can be expected of people entrusted with such power. they werent concerned with the welfare of the country, they only wanted personal gain. |

Communism is how you would live if you was on a ship in sea or in a new colony ...actually, that's how it was with the Plymouth pilgrims. They lived in a commune...unfortunately, it didn't work even there, even in that small scale. :-/ |

white lancer what you are refering to is Utopia societies that self destructed the fact that nobody could agree on anything. You can also refer to the Witch trials. However mormons did achieve a Utopia with the way they still live today. |
