Confuse Ward isn't enough for those Great Malboro, because chances are it can slip right through the protective shield. You NEED CONFUSE PROOF! Or Ribbon, which is wayyy better because it protects you from every statis change (apart from positive stat change).

If you want No Encouter, then customise your armour with 30 Smelling Salt I think, that will get you your No Encounter. Or else, your still to weak.

You can also get a No Encounters Armour Fighting "Ghost" at the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth it will eventually drop one, You could Capture a Ghost, then fight it in the Monster Arena until it drops the desired armor.re: No Encounters, Also Does Demonolith, Inside Sin, Omega Ruins ..

As darryl says you can Customize your own with 30 Purifying Salts.

Were to get salts...You can get 99 salts, in one go for catching 4 of every dragons, in the Monster Arena Side quest, or RARE steals from Abadon, at the Arena, Hornet as well , there are no Bribes for them in the game,you can steal some from some of the Monks at Ruins of Zanarkand, Bevelle, Via Purifico, but they are also rare..

Malboro's can be a pain in the Butt especially the Greater, First Strike weapons, Delay Buster and Provoke come in handy. He is also weak against Fire,(Firestrike) just so you know. so besides being protected and having First Strike, use Delay Buster against it, delaying its turn and then proceeding hacking away at it.

Where can I find a ribbon? I might do it again. For the no encounter do I need it on every character or just one cause I don't like using half the characters. I finally started enjoying using yuna.

ribbon can be equiped in armour if you have enough dark matters...(99 for getting Nemesis in the monster arena...pfff pain in the ass to get it) or can be stumbled on after certain battles... I found one for tidus but I can't remember where...no encounter is easy to find if you fight monsters in the omega dungeon...only one character equipping it is enough...

you don't need to get Nemesis for 99 Dark Matter, if fact you only need to reach to umm...i think the name was Buster Claw or something. Catch 5 of every monster and it will appear.

Ribbon armour can be dropped by any Dark Aeons. Once you defeat them, you have a chance that it has a Ribbon Effect in it. I suggest you to keep fighting a Dark Aeon until it gives you a Break HP Limit, Ribbon and two empty space for your free costumisation. You should reall add Auto Haste on one of them.

Dark Aeon only appear in the PAL version.

Does that mean I can only get ribbon by customization? I have american version as I live in U.S.

I'm pretty sure you can't get Ribbon in the NA version, sorry. On the bright side (if you look at it that way) there are no Dark Aeons blocking your path's either... although most people won't see that as a good thing.

Confuse proof it is (or no encounter armour as FREESHA said), for this you need 48 musk to customize.

Ribbon is Not in the North American Version, However as Bingo points out, " Customizing " You can customize Armours to handle every Boss fight that you face, there are No Celestial //Ultimate Armours,in the Game like Weapons,

but you can make some good "Near enough" all round Armours, that would deal//help with "Most" fights...

We just got the Ribbon as an Xtra Bonus because of those Dark Guys, we didn't really need it, As i beleive by some of those clever FFX serious gaming folk, Dark Aeons//Penance could have been taken down without it..

Oh..and No i didn't, i used it, i was Cluck Cluck Chicken.lol.

Confusion, Silence, Darkness, Slow, Doom, Berserk, Sleep Zombie,Petrification, and Poison..

Does not protect your Butt against..

Death,Curse, Delay, Eject..Power Break,Magic Break, Mental Break, Armour Break..

There are some other special unique attacks of certain bosses that will penetrate it to.....
