Violet was finally happy.

For the first time, someone loved him. The sun had gone down and moonlight once again filled the forest. And he had just had a great meal of an unsuspecting Targrapin that was out for a stroll. Those little buggers were Violet's two favorite things: delicious and stupid. A single stroke of his blade was enough to fell the beast, from which the feeding began. The body was simply left there, as another carnivore would likely come by soon for its own feast. The discovery of the corpse would reveal that there was an exceedingly large ammount of blood on the ground, and what wasn't spilled out on the ground was simply gone. The Targrapin had been sucked dry. And it wasn't too hard to put two and two together and figure out who--or what-- did it.

Violet stands about 6' 1" and appears no older than 18. He was named after his deep violet eyes which always seem to hold more than he is willing to reveal. With age, Violet has grown to be less sensitive about being called a girl, especially because it hasn't happened nearly as often. Violet is a skilled archer and can shoot several arrows at once from his prized longbow. He carries it around everywhere, even at his "home". Also noticeable on his back is a bright red katana, about three feet in length. He also walks around with a shield made of pure silver lined in lead with a red dragon in the middle. However, his tools are not his only marvel: Violet boasts some limited psychic powers. In addition, he is descended from the Spirit of Fire and has the ability to transform into a dragon, although he has yet to master transformation at will and it generally happens when he gets very angry. Not all his powers are cause for celebration, unfortunately, as Violet has recently acquired empathy through a freak accident involving several hybrid vampires. He spends much of his free time trying to control this power, as well as his thirst.

Never was it a good idea to sleep during the night in this forest. Almost all the creatures are nocturnal, and again most of them are some form of carnivore. The craftier ones will seek out travelers stupid enough to doze off and devour them in their sleep. Violet himself had witnessed two such attacks just recently, likely due to an increase in travelers through the area. Not that Violet had anything to complain about; loneliness was a basic fact of living in this forest. At least he had Amanda and Taylor to keep him company, though it was always nice to meet new people. If nothing else, because they taste good. Carnivorous beasts don't generally exhibit a wide array of emotions, either. Violet had finished cleaning his blade when he came across what looked like a little girl--until he saw the twin tongues, lined with spines.

"I know you're no human! Why don't you fight me in your true form, it wouldn't be as fun to kill a little girl!"

On command, the "girl" began to change. At the base of the spine, a tail that forked at the midsection grew out, two blades on each of the two tips. The elbows reversed direction and became knees as the beast plopped down on the newly formed pair of legs, a third pair growing out of the torso as a pair of tendrils sprouted from the back. The body as a whole was making small tweaks to cause it to look more plant-like as the head melted slightly, then formed a sort of spear with eyes and a wide mouth, filled to the brim with teeth. At last the creature was finished transforming. Noting this, Violet started to transform as well. At first, it didn't look like much, just a darkening of his skin. But then patches of black scales started to cluster in seemingly random places. Before long, there was no skin, just scales. A pair of wings had broken through from the confines of the shoulders, also scale-covered. Claws were replacing the hands and feet as well. Violet had become a dragon.

"Let's see just how well you burn, filthy Kyarndril!"

Violet spoke with much deeper voice that carried a fiery tone to it as well. He focused for a bit before releasing a blast of fire at the Kyarndril, fully incinerating it. Not even ashes were left from this one. Violet quickly demorphed so if anyone else showed up, they wouldn't be as inclined to attack if they ran into a dragon.

"Anyone else?"

Message Person and Time

The vampire surveyed the situation with his head tilted awkwardly to one side, he’d been hiding, more or less, but more sufficiently he had been unintentionally skulking, yes, that was a much better term for it. He had the habit of sneaking, even when there was no need to, not to say there was no need to know, seeing as he’d already met with quite a few of the odd and grotesque creatures that lurked within this little domain. Ugly little beasts, he couldn’t help but wonder how his nightly wanderings wound him up in this little hole. But, at least it wasn’t boring. In fact, this little display going on here was probably the first thing of interest that had happened since he’d fallen into his little…predicament.

He’d somehow fallen down a hole. Why it was there, how it had got there, and how he was going to get out were all very colourful and amusing things to think about. He’d been struggling with the urge to laugh hysterically for at least an hour, the absurdity of falling into a hole and then NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT, was just too otherworldly to him. On any other night, he’d be able to use his dark gift to alter gravity and practically walk out, but he was starved of blood, and hence, powerless.

But, if whoever that strange dragon-person…thing was, was a nice fellow, then it would all work out for the best. Hearing the man speak, Corban hollered up in answet.

“Yes, actually, down here!”

The vampire stood back a few steps to better attempt to peer over the edge of the ravine and up at whoever was above. Corban stood at a height of five foot eleven, and his build was very slight and willow, with bony shoulders and long limbs, giving the general appearance of someone very meek and frail; child-like. His skin is a marble white, with a sickly tint to it, and unlike other vampires he has no claws or fangs, but the unearthly white of his skin and the brilliance of his eerily bright blue eyes make his race evident.

Atop his head is a mass of luscious but unkempt, ebony curls, spiralling in crazed, lethal thorns all about his head, as wild an erratic as the personality of the person whom they belonged to. His eyes are wide, conveying purity and innocent, with a thin, delicate brow and smooth, angelic features and permanently pouting lips. The only visible blemish on his cherubic visage is a single, thick scar slashed darkly across his left cheek.

His clothes were simple; consisting of a white, billowy dress shirt of an old age style, torn and old, with a black waist coat made from crushed velvet above this, the white embroidery stitched into it long fraying and most of the buttons discarded, a pair of loose-fitting black trousers, long black boots and black gloves, and to complete it all is a dark blue, velveteen coat, form-fitting and tailored perfectly for Corban’s slim form, the only thing about him that isn’t ragged and tattered.

Held across his chest with his left hand is a black cane, the silver top formed into the small motif of a gargoyle with grotesquely large fangs. The cane never hits the floor, and is kept always against his shoulder.

((Sorry for the long wait...Multitasking.))

Oh no...no, no, no! Not AGAIN! The very idea made the poor vampire fledgling groan. The house had been quiet...That was semi-normal. Yes, Corban had a way of disappearing at both convinient and inconvinient times. He had that little club he 'ran' (he still wasn't completely sure how good a manager the crazed vampire could be). It seemed to be a time-consumer, which was good for the novelist who had such a hard time concentrating with the constant banging and thrashing that went on about the house while he was there. Oh, and his OCD nature of cleanliness wasn't very happy with having to clean up broken china every other day. So, a bit of quiet around the house was nice...

...But TWO DAYS?

Dammit, that just meant that Corban had gotten lost, gone on one of his VERY long mad streaks, deciding he didn't want to live with Edgar anymore, or had found a shop full of shiny things and decided to just sit there for a bit. Either way, Corban NEEDED to come back home, or at least call Edgar on the phone. THERE WAS ONE FOR A REASON! But no, the vampire couldn't remember his own relatives half the time. Why ask him to remember a sequence of eight digits? In general this was NOT a good day for the novelist. Having a missing Corban was NEVER good for the man who had a childlike dependence on him.

So, here he was, trekking through the woods, the dirty woods...The scary, dirty woods. The dark, scary, dirty woods. Oh what did that matter? It was DIRTY! And that's all that seemed to matter. To hell with all the monsters! All this bramble, poison ivy, and MUD! Oh, Corban, if you're out here, you had BETTER BE WORTH SAVING! All of this was going through the poor fledgling's head, while the black vampire cat Star followed happily, glad to be out of the house for once.

Edgar Penhale was one of the most popular horror novelists of his time, until he met Corban. It was there his inner fascination with the supposed mythic bloodsuckers overwhelmed his will to live a normal life. In the end, he was turned into a vampire, faked his own death, and joined up with the insane and eccentric Corban. However, either his own inner insanity or his master's crazed blood has ended up making him a bit unhinged himself, though on a much smaller level in contrast to the age-old cherubic man. He has been trying to restart his career as a writer under a new name, but it's been an impossibility with Corban around.

He was a lanky, pale man. Easily marked as a vampire, with his blackened and enlongated fingernails, eight fangs as large as a child's finger, paper-white skin, disturbingly handsome features (though not nearly as noticable as Corban's own, especially when the two are right next to each other), and piercing emerald green eyes. His jet black hair is always messy, greasy, and long enough to go past his eyelids. He had a few 'nervous' gestures, like trying to bite his claws, twidling his fingers, and biting his lower lip. These were seen easily, with small scars visible in his palms, an inconsisitency in nail length, and scarring of the lip tissue.

His dress was simple, black sweatpants, a pair of black boots, and a messy white t-shirt with a v-neck. The armpits were greyed with sweat, and fraying was evident in the fabric. All in all, the figure of the slim man looked like he had just ran out the door the second it occured to him that Corban was gone again...Not too far off.

He finally reached a clearing, one where he could smell a dead carcus...A...whatever it was. Drained of blood, the Something was...Corban? Could he have done this to the Something? Doubtful...this looked too clean a job, with a blade. Unable to ponder this further, he heard a burst of laughter...Corban! Corban, Corban, Corban! Finally! Rushing through the bushes, not giving a damn about dirt for the moment, and Star following reluctantly, he found the hole...and found it hard. He slipped on a patch of...MUD! And fell right in with the starving vampire.

He didn't mind much. "CORBAN! Where the hell have you been?" he fumed, getting up and dusting himself off. Star was still up top, looking down on the two and meowing with indifference. God, that cat must think them both crazy...And the cat would be right.

Derik ran through the dark forest and hoped to God that whatever was chasing him wouldn't catch up. Though, he though, God probably didn't help vampires much. He continued to run, looking behind him slightly to see the beast was still there...

Then all he saw was dirt. Then more dirt as his bum hit the floor of what appeared to be a hole. Standing, he didn't bother to look around, but only looked up and wondered idly how he was going to get out. The hole wasn't very nice was it. Turning, he squeeked when he found two others in the hole with him.

derik had onyx black eyes and onyx black hair that was in a mohawk style. At the moment it was down, the hair hanging down on his forehead, the tips purple. His string cheekbones and strong jaw were contrasting to the soft eyes and pert nose of a childs. his lips were full and lush, soft looking. He stood 5'4, a short man. He appeared to be 17 or 18, but was truly 134. Young for his kind. He had delicatly pale skin that seemed to shine a little and when he smiled a dimple was shown on the left cheek. But right now he didn't smile. right now he stood with wide eyes at the two others in the hole. Then he looked down at the ground.

"H-hi..." He mumbled. If he could have blushed, he would have.

Where had the little man gone? Clea wondered. He had been fun to chase, the scared person with purple hair. He'd made the funniest faces. He probably would have been fun to torture to-

Violet! Clea ran, still in her panther form, and tackled Violet to the ground, then changed into her normal form. This time she wore her black pants and black ribbon like shirt. It was like her dress, only shorter to make it a shirt. She smiled down at Violet and kissed his cheek.

"Hello love!" She giggled. "Miss me?"

Clea then looked around to see the slightly charred part of the ground. Most people probably wouldn't notice it. She could also smell burt flesh, though the smell was faiding, and she noticed Violet was a little tence. "What happened?" She wondered aloud.

Nice. There happened to be yet ANOTHER being around. It certainly couldn't be one of the beasts, however; the only vampire to live in this desolate forest is Violet. And what fun, another vampire fell in the hole as well. Must be a Terrapixx on the loose, thought Violet. This one was freaked to no end about dirt and cleanliness. Not very smart. The world is filthy, and if you spend your life trying to clean it up you'll end up as part of the mess yourself. When the third vampire fell into the hole, Violet couldn't help but fall over laughing. Three vampires caught in the same trap! What are the odds of that? This one was being chased, and Violet was hoping it was the Terrapixx and not some fourth creature until he saw who it was. He had just enough time to brace himself for the tackle as he was sent rolling backwards by his new girlfriend. First, and hopefully only. Luckily, she had sailed over most of the ground and wouldn't find herself in a similar predicament to that of the vampires. Terrapixx never dug just one hole in an area...

((Speech, in order of posts made by others:))

"Hah hah! I see that we've got another little beastie to clean up after."

"Heh. Another hole in one for the clumsy vampire team."

"Three vampires? What is this, a convention?"

"Clea! ((Kisses her)) I'm so glad to see you! You wanna know what happened? A Targrapin and a Kyarndril, that's what. And it looks like a Terrapixx has set a trap here as well. Don't move from where you are, they never dig only one hole."

The vampire looked up, head abruptly jerking to one side and eyes narrowing as a familiar scent wafted through the air; Edgar? Odd, he couldn’t imagine his fledgling being in such a place, the somewhat neurotic writer really didn’t appear the type to intentionally wander into a forest such as this, not so much because of the dangerous inhabitants, but for reasons that all of them already knew; the place was filthy. Corban found himself imagining Edgar covered in dirt, and began to predict in his mind’s eye the rambling and furious scrubbing that Edgar would proceed with for at least a few hours once they arrived home, this image succeeding in making him grin.

And the grin grew ever wider as Edgar plummeted at Corban’s feet. Corban stood there, back straight, shoulders rolled back, cane balanced carefully on his shoulder; he looked surprisingly debonair and dignified for someone who had landed themselves quite foolishly in a hole, but Corban’s ever present, gentlemanly charm never did seem to falter, even when he was raving like a lunatic.

Smacking Edgar playfully on the back in the usual companionable gesture, he spoke in an upbeat tone, completely ignoring Edgar’s outburst, allowing it to go right over his head.

“Edgar! What a delight to see you here!”

Glancing up once the sound of a meow caught his attention, the pitch and tremor very like a cat he knew rather well, he beamed up at Star and gave one of his trademark waves; the kind where he would jump up and down childishly while waving his hand in short, quick motions and giggle to himself in a way that, maniacal as it appeared, was oddly cute.

“Star! C’mere kitty! Come to Corby!-”

And with a heavy thud, they were joined by yet another vampire. Corban examined the boy closely, inspecting him with a raised eyebrow and a mild smile before shaking his head and rambling incoherently under his breathe.

“The most ruthless, cold, predatory undead, duped easily by a hole in the floor. I have an excuse, I’m an idiot, but what’s your excuse, hm?”

He said while gesturing to Edgar and the boy with an exasperated wave of his hand. Then wandering to the edge of the hole, he called back up to the man at the top, a little irritated that his attention was being taken away.

“Would you mind finding us a rope? It would be very polite. Very helpful.”

At the moment, too many emotions were running through poor Edgar's head to be worrying about dirt...Relief at finding Corban, anger at having to go FIND Corban, confusion at, well, Corban in general, surprise that ANOTHER vampire had fallen into the hole, hot embarrassment at the young boy's taunts, and pure defeat at HAVING all of these at once. He hated it when things went too fast, and this certainly was on the quicker side of the lane. He laid against the side of the hole, sighed, then started to rub his temple with one hand, a headache igniting.

Still repeating this gesture, he looked at Corban, and couldn't help but smile at the eccentric vampire's debonair appearance. If he didn't know better, Corban was thinking of having a tea party in this little hole...Wait...Now that he thought about it, such ideas MIGHT be going through Corban's head anyways. He let out a brief sigh as he was slapped on the back, never liking that gesture but still forced to endure it for his master's entertainment.

"Sure, fine, we're both glad to see each other...Now, can we see each other OUT OF THE HOLE?" he fumed, quite ready to leave this rotten forest. Star did not hear Corban's calling, suddenly frightened by the appearance of a panther. That alone was enough for the vampire cat to bolt away to a safe distance, not coming out unless one of the two vampires picked him up.

He sighed as Corban taunted the poor, purple-haired vampire that had fallen in with them...Or was it true jesting? One never could tell...So, instead of defend or attack this new victim of the hole, he began trying to climb up out of the trap. Unlike his master, he still had his claws, and began to dig them into the soft soil. Next, he slammed his boot into one side, making an indention for a foot hold. The other hand now, digging in a little higher up. Final foot, placed above the first. Hand, foot, hand, foot, he repeated this until he was just about at the top. Then, in true comic format, a little piece of the edge came loose, the dirt fell into poor Edgar's face, and he desperately tried to wipe it away with the OTHER hand, fear of dirt coming back long enough for him to topple back to the bottom.

It was THERE that he began to panic, surrounded by dirt on all sides, his nails and boots caked in mud, his face speckled with dust, and all around feeling like a shower would be heaven. He began muttering to himself, frantically wiping his hands on his plain white shirt, then beating at the cloth to get the dust away, only to get it back on his hands, which in turn wiped it on the shirt...Finally, he realized the cycle and groaned loudly in frustration.

"Yes, could you please, please, PLEASE GOD DAMN YOU GET A ROPE!" His voice escalated as he began to jump up in down to get his emphasis across, only stopping when he realized that it was Corban's trademark gesture. Still, he kept frantically fidgeting, constantly trying to scrape away cakes of mud, and all the time muttering about dirt and how hell was made from it.

Derik looked around and sighed. Oh he hated having to talk. People always expected it and the wrong thing always came out of his mouth. But when his gaze fell on the vampire that wasn't freaking out it froze. Beautiful was his only thought. He was stuck in a hole with a beautiful vampire. The other freaking out one didn't register in his mind. He faded into the dirt background as the lovely one stood out.

Derik took in the pale skin and the outstandlingly blue eyes. Like beautiful shimmering crystals. He could imagine them heated with passion, the icey fire they would hold. If he skimmed a hand down the man's side then over the icy skin under his tattered shirt...

No! Derik couldn't go there again. This vampire was a MAN. Like Derik was a MAN. The vampire wouldn't even think about... about...

Again, Derik would have blushed if he could have. Instead he looked to the ground and wished the hole would go deeper and swollow him. Then he wouldn't exist to be embarased like this constantly.

Looking to the ground, as if that would force it open, he sighed long and heavy. "If I wasn't a vampire I'd ask why God hated me so..." He mumbled, looking up to the dark, tree branch covered sky.

"Oh! So thats where my playtoy went." Clea said with a smile. She kissed Violets nose the reluctantly got off him and stood up. "Holes everywhere you say? Well..." She bgean to walk slightly forward, getting on her knees and probing the ground with her hands before going forward. "No hole here... not here... no- oop. There's one." She probed around it until she found the way around. "Nothing here... or here... or here. And here we are!" She looked into the already exposed hole and smiled down at the three vampires.

"Well doesn't that just stink for you. Now, me being a six foot tall panther I COULD come down there, change, and jump you out one by one. Or I could leave you there and toy with you." She put a finger to her lip and wondered a moment. "Ooo that would be so fun!" She giggled, then looked at Violet. "Can I play with them? Please?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with malicious glee.

Quite an excessive degree of insanity was displaying itself amongst the recipients of the hole, noted Violet, as he took mental inventory of the recent occupants. One was crazy, one was a neat freak, one was hidden, and Clea was just as adorable as ever. Violet's helpful instincts took over before his cautious nature grabbed hold of him. He started to fashion together a makeshift rope before thinking "what if this is a trap for me?" and continued to take roll. The neat freak was most likely to cause some sort of damage, but he was also most likely to perform a slip of the tongue. The quiet one wasn't much of an interest, though. But the first one... Violet couldn't quite tell what it was, but there was something about that man that incurred an interest.

"Yeah, you can play with them... Except for that one..."

It wasn't hard to guess that Violet pointed towards Corban. He then finished up the rope and tied it around the nearby tree, motioning for Corban to climb up. If either of the others tried anything rash, though, they would be met with a falling branch, one end burnt off. Violet couldn't take any chances, as not only are visitors rare, but three of the same species is abnormally suspicious and it would be "inhumane" of Violet not to investigate.

"Come on out of there, mister. But the rest of you, don't try anything funny. Three vampires showing up simultaneously in such a secluded area that plays host to such nasty wildlife as this one, that's not only suspicious but unheard of."

((Revised post:))

Quite an excessive degree of insanity was displaying itself amongst the recipients of the hole, noted Violet, as he took mental inventory of the

recent occupants. One was crazy, one was a neat freak, one was hidden, and Clea was just as adorable as ever. Violet's helpful instincts took over

before his cautious nature grabbed ahold of him. He started to fashion together a makeshift rope before thinking "what if this is a trap for me?" and

continued to take roll. The neat freak was most likely to cause some sort of damage, but he was also most likely to perform a slip of the tongue.

The quiet one wasn't much of an interest, though. But the first one... Violet couldn't quite tell what it was, but there was something about that man

that incurred an interest.

"Yeah, you can play with them... Except for that one..."

It wasn't hard to guess that Violet pointed towards Corban. He then finished up the rope and tied it around the nearby tree, motioning for Corban to

climb up. If either of the others tried anything rash, though, they would be met with a falling branch, one end burnt off. Violet couldn't take any

chances, as not only are visitors rare, but three of the same species is abnormally suspicious and it would be "inhumane" of Violet not to

investigate.

"Come on out of there, mister. But the rest of you, don't try anything funny. Three vampires showing up simultaneously in such a secluded area

that plays host to such nasty wildlife as this one, that's not only suspicious but unheard of. Clea, if they try and pull any stunts, keep them in check."

Violet turned to Corban and smiled at him, flashing both fangs, then bringing his right index finger to his lips in a "shushing" manner before winking. He motioned with his eyes for him to walk with Violet as he started off deeper into the forest, blade drawn in case of attack. Corban may or may not know about the multitude of beasts that call this forest home, most of them devious and ravenous carnivores. One couldn't allow their special guest to sustain any injuries, now could they?
