Dang, somebody beat me to commenting on Lebron's horrible performance. Except I probably would have exaggerated it and said something like he missed fifty shots, but yeah. |

Did LeBron miss some layups in the Eastern Conference Finals last year? Yes. Then he came back and helped the Cavs win the series. Steve |

My point is that anything can happen. The Cavs could get swept, or they can come back and win the series.... Steve |

The way I see it, the Cavs have basically spoonfed the Celtics their first two wins. Game 1 was an atrocity; its a shame that the Cavs worst game of the year would come at their most important time. That was their chance to kick the dog while it was down, to get momentum, to take the upper hand in the series. That loss was the big "blow to the groin", as Steve Nash would say. The game was the Cavs to lose, and they did just that. Game 2, the Cavaliers started off firing, and they developed a 12 point lead. Unfortunately, their play turned about face as quickly as it had gotten good, and by the third quarter, the game was out of reach. Obviously, LeBron's been le shit (not shit as in cool) this series; there's no arguing that. You can call it LeBron just flat out playing horrible, you can call it the Celtics great D, you can call it both. That's what I'd call it, anyways. LeBron's countered the double team with the worst shooting I've seen in his career; he usually makes at least about 35% of those jumpshots. Honestly, I don't think he's made ONE jumper all series, which is just pathetic. Subhuman pathetic. Even Ben Wallace has made a fadeaway jumper this series... Furthermore, he adds insult to injury by repeatedly forcing these often bad shots even after he's cold as Greenland; that is NOT smart play. The point is, LeBron's been just pathetic; he can't buy a shot, and he seems afraid to attack the double team. Classic LeBron would cut through the defenders, go up, and get hacked; which he's done to a small degree, so I give him some credit. The only Cav who's been respectable is Big Z. LeBron's been God awful, but you can't put all the blame on him. He's had as little help as ever. No one's there to draw the double team away from him; the Celtics seem more than willing to let Z get his share of open jumpers to keep two or three guys stifling LeBron at all times. Boobie's been bad, Wally's been inconsistent, Ben Wallace has been Ben Wallace (enough said), Delonte West has been the mulatto trash he is, oh and Joe Smith. I hate Joe Smith and Mike Brown right now. Mike Brown is the most pathetic, idiotic excause for an NBA coach to ever walk the earth. Since when can 6'10, old-man-bench-warmer-extroadinaire Joe Smith shut down 7 ft KG, one of the most explosive, athletic, long range shot skilled, and just technically great players ever? That's just stupid. Same thing with putting that weak sauce Varejao against him. Come on. Only Big Z should really be guarding him, Ben Wallace maybe while he's resting. KG is killing us. Mike Brown doesn't seem to understand basic principles of the game. Let's see, is there any other Cav I failed to criticize? Maybe now dumb Danny Ferry's starting to regret that horrible trade he made; I can't believe I miss Larry Hughes right now. Even he could make more than 20% of his shots. And Gooden was consistently consistent; couple that with a great midrange baseline jumper and you have a game one victory and an entirely different series. Heck, even the Cavs who were playing the Spurs last year'd probably be 1-1 now... |

Delonte has NOT been trash..... The way I see it, LeBron needs to explode in the rest of this series or they will go home early. Steve |

I take offence to that Go ahead. He simply played as trashy as he looked in game three. He redeemed himself in game four, but I still hate his guts. I'd have no problem calling someone like K-Fed white trash, so the fact that I think West looks like mulatto trash is really no different. Delonte has NOT been trash..... Did you watch game three, or even any previous part of the rest of his yet to be decent career? Yes, he's put-on-the-sidewalk-for-pickup-every-Thursday quality in my books. The way I see it, LeBron needs to explode in the rest of this series or they will go home early. He just can't keep settling for jumpers. When he starts cold, he should just stop shooting for a while, try to get some other people involved (as hard as it is for that team), and try to penetrate for layups and fouls. |

Delonte has been in this position and it has worked well. He may have been struggling for a while, but not lately. He certainly struggled the first two games of the series; if LeBron's terrible night hadn't overshadowed Delonte's game 1 performance, he'd be the target of tons of more heat and criticism. Besides, he's never panned out in general in the NBA. People got jumpy when St. Joe's went to the NCAA championship, and Delonte was overhyped going into the NBA. Here, he's never amounted to anything except the third wheel involved trade after trade and the go to guy for a back up point guard. Delonte West is NOT the Cavaliers solution to the need for a point guard. Baron Davis may be a free agent this summer; let's go after him! He may not be a traditional PG, but I'd be ecstatic to have him on the Cavs. With another, and I emphasize, SUPERSTAR, LeBron would be able to take the Cavs to a Championship. |
