Kodoln couldn't take it anymore. It was just too much to stand. Here he was, walking on the road for a full day with his stupid imp, Nogtoc, who seemed unable to shut up! Kodoln had tried to drown out Nogtoc's senseless racket with fighting, and stopped to battle the wolves of Elwynn Forest, but it only made the stupid imp talk more. It was nightfall when Kodoln could no longer stand it.
Nogtoc: Elwynn Forest is such a dumb name! The wolves are feisty, there are impudent paladins running everywhere, and here I am, stuck here with a level 7 moron who calls himself a warlock. What a jo-"
Kodoln finally snapped and lifted the imp by his throat, choking him.
"Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!!!!!"
Kodoln was about to rant to Nogtoc when he heard someone clearing their throat only to see that a Stormwind guard stood before them.
"Is there a problem here, young warlock?"
Kodoln dropped the imp and shook his head, turning his full attention to the guard.
"Yes, ummm...I was wondering if you could help me. I seemed to have lost my way. I am on my way to Goldshire from the Abbey, can you tell me how much farther I must travel on this road?"
The guard looked at Kodoln in confusion and pointed back the way they had come.
"It looks like you went right on through it without realizing, young warlock. Goldshire is back the way you came. This road leads to Westfall."
"WHAT?! I mean....thak you for your help."
Kodoln grabbed Nogtoc by the throat again and began walking back.
"Nogtoc, how is it, we passed Goldshire without noticing?"
Nogtoc: Waddya mean without noticing? I noticed it while we were walking. When we got off the road to kill spiders down in the pit, I looked and saw the town.
Kodoln squeezed Nogtoc's throat tighter.
"You mean that you knew that we had passed Goldshire all that time ago!"
Nogtoc: ...ech....yup...
Kodoln dropped Nogtoc and sagged, saddened.
"How much longer until I'm rid of this stupid imp? Surely I'll get a better minion soon..."
And so Kodoln and Nogtoc began traveling back towards Goldshire, and Nogtoc began talking rudely to Kodoln, insulted by his words as they walked down the road through the night.
