Now, I’m curious to see what everyone prefers as the Land of Hyrule. The OoT Hyrule, or the TP Hyrule. Though of course, I’m not (and neither should you) focus on the graphics side of view. I’m talking about the overall layout of the land. From where everything is, how they’re set out, to how they appear, etc. Not understanding me? OK, I’ll try to help you with an example: Do you prefer the Kakariko Village of OoT, where a peaceful green town occupied by many lay at the foot of the mountains… or the TP Kakariko Village, an almost desolate run down place that lay at the foot of the mountains, overrun by sand? Do you prefer the sprawling mass of field with a ranch in its centre in OoT, or the spread out land with many paths to different areas in TP? I guess you could even say, what do you think is the real Hyrule between the two? ((Sorry if I didn’t make much sense, I’m really tired)) |

Well I made better home in Twilight Princess I have this stupid little dream that I would live there However wouldn't it be nice to add more Hyrule versions? There is Zelda I JK XD There is A Link To The Past And there is Wind Wakers version where I like the idea pretty much however you only discover small parts of the Field and w/e is of Hyrule to discover |

I'd have to say TP's. Even ignoring the obvious graphical improvement, it just overall seems more epic, and plausible. OOT Hyrule was great, but to have one largish field that you could conveniently visit every significant place in the 'world' from was a bit much. TP gave you such a grand sense of scale you really felt you were making a proper journey to get to the next province or village, without being bland. If you were asked which of OOT and TP's Hyrules could feasibly become the Great Ocean in a couple of hundred years, it's a no-brainer. Granted, Kakariko was probably better in OOT, although TP's was made more barren to reflect how nature would leave it in the passing of time. Lake Hylia is simply fantastic in TP, and the view you can get from the bridge above is breathtaking. Lost Woods is a close call, but for me having the Temple of Time and Master Sword hidden within it gives it the edge over OOT's, Forest Temple and all. Gerudo Desert...much of a muchness, probably OOT shades it because of the intricate jails and uncertain path to the temple. For that matter the Spirit Temple equivalents are equally great for different reasons, OOT's for having depth, needing both forms of Link and an original boss, TP for it's delightful nod to OOT's Forest Temple and the most fun boss I can recall, even if it was easy. Reminded me of Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64 to you Americans) for some reason. Zora's domain? Gorgeous in both games, but again TP shades it, it feels like there's more going on in and around it, the waterfall is fastastic, more scale, plus you can see the peak of Hyrule Castle from the top, a terrific touch. OOT's ZD in comparison seems more like a kid's swimming pool. Starting Forest? Hmmm...I have fonder memories of Kokiri, due to how it aside from Link's Awakening, it was my first delve into Zelda, and the elves/fairies/Great Deku Tree feel like they hold more of a mysterious/fastasy element. Ordona feels more like OOT's Kakariko. I've frequently tried to imagine where in the Lost Woods would the Kokiri Forest link to Ordona... Overall, however, I'ma say TP, even if I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of all the cracks and canyons is. It just feels more fleshed out, more boundaryless, and watching each section burst to life having been enveloped in Twilight is a joy. I can't see that concept working so well on OOT...although it would be interesting... |

This is the facts They built a new town of Hyrule after the old one got destroyed. The result of the new Hyrule is actually hills. I bet the old Hyrule is still below everything. Arbiter's Grounds where it lies now lied Gerudo Fortress before. The Forest Temple is probably the original one and Faron Wood's is the newly improved forest of Kokiri's. Lakebed Temple is the Water Temple from OoT Kakariko Village in OoT is actually that Hidden Village where only one person lives, named Impala. Look at her name and the same story as OoT. I am confused but also settled |

...Where did you hear this theory of Old Hyrule being destroyed and TP Hyrule being over it? If you're referring to Wind Waker, that happened in a separate timeline, hence the graphical difference, and that supposedly took place 100 years after TP anyway. I don't think the hidden village is Kakariko, because if you remember the cutscene she mentions how a descendant (I.E Impa) built it, yet Kakariko was where Impa originated from, besides which you saw it being constructed by workers in OOT. Lakebed I can agree with, although I personally think it's another entrance to a different part of the Water Temple. Arbiter's Grounds? It's quite likely that over the passage of time, the Spirit Temple and Gerudo Fortress was devoured by the spreading sands, and the Prison/New Temple were built on higher ground to counteract this. I don't think we actually see the OOT Forest Temple in TP, or Kokiri Forest, rather I believe these are situated on the other side of the Lost Woods, the side you don't get to visit in OOT through one of those entrances that just leads you back to the start. Somewhere there must be a Link between the two, a Link to the past, if you will (Ok that's enough). My guess is that Zelda used her magic to move the Temple Of Time to the Forest where it would be better hidden from evil. Also, interesting thought; Notice that ring of submerged rubble circling a perfect stone surface? My theory is that that's the remains of Lon Lon Ranch. |

Forgot to add, I mean the circle of rubble and stone on the section of Hyrule Field leading up to the Bridge Of Eldin. It would certainly fit in with all those fences there are to jump over. |
